I was so ready to reply "PL OK" for this section... and everything is great, except the silence at the end. Guidelines call for about 5 seconds of silence at the end of each recording; you had 4.3 seconds including a final mouse click. This should take mere moments to correct and re-upload; I'd suggest you trim the final click then generate an extra second of silence to tack on the end. Generating silence is a menu option in Audacity.
This is my first attempt at PL duties, so perhaps 4.3 seconds is actually within tolerance and this could be PL OK. Carolin, if you could weigh in that would be great.
Thanks!

Thank you so much
As a general rule, a heartbeat more or less is fine in both beginning and end silence. The average listener would never notice the difference. So section 9 can be okayed

Let me know if there is anything you need on my end. (I'm still learning the ropes!)
Thanks!

PL OK!
section 79 PL notes:
at about 0:48
- I hear "a meager stone"
- I read "a meager store"
section 81 PL notes:
at 1:02 and 1:34
- I hear "though" (with a long O sound)
- I read "thou"
Some of these poems seem very quotable. I especially like "The Measure" and may just use some of this elsewhere.
Magic Window notes:
- section 84 "Consolation" is misfiled in the MW as section 90, and there is no section 84 shown in the MW
- section 89 "The Measure" is the last poem in the text for this part of the book

Kaely... Welcome! That was a lovely first reading. The poem seemed like a good choice for your voice, and it sounded like you had fun reading it.KaelyMonahan wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 1:55 pm I've uploaded section 8, The Old Oak Tree. Here is the URL:

The only issue I found in checking the file is the tech specs; the bitrate is too high (192kb, instead of 128kb) and the volume, which clocks in at 85.4dB; slightly below the acceptable range of 86-92dB, with the ideal target being around 89. If you edit your recording, amplify by about +4.3dB to hit the ideal volume, and resave at 128kb, it should be good to re-upload.
Thanks!

Thanks Scott. I've made those adjustments. I'm editing on Adobe Audition. The db levels go -59 to 0. I'm bumping up my volume so it peaks at -3 at the highest. (I'm guessing most of you guys use Audacity? I'm thinking the db specs might show up differently.) It should now be at 128kb. Let me know if it needs to be louder or softer. Thanks!

Thanks for working through that. Audition certainly does have different controls than Audacity, but that's OK. This new file clocks in at 91.7 db, which within the acceptable range but just barely. It still sounds great, so it gets the OK from me.KaelyMonahan wrote: ↑January 11th, 2019, 11:02 amMcScotty wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 6:52 pmKaely... Welcome! That was a lovely first reading. FWIW, Audacity also doesn't give us an easy view of the volume spec that LibriVox is looking for. There's a "Checker" program that's specific to LibriVox that analyzes the tech specs (bit rate, volume, sampling, mono vs stereo) and gives pass/fail, and details about failures. Search for it in the forums, unfortunately I don't have the link handy. There's also an audacity plug-in that will scan the audio and normalize it to a LibreVox appropriate volume with no guesswork; my first ~50 submissions I did without that plug-in but now I use it all the time.
Section 08, PL OK!
thanks!
BTW, love the name. I have a 9-month-old granddaughter named Kaylee.
