Chapters 45 and 47 have been recorded with my DIY recording booth :) The other two chapters have been recorded on my desk with a pillow to reduce ambient echo, so there may well be an audible difference.

I'd like to continue with chapters 49, 50 and 51, please.
Thanks much, merendo! :)

Section #48 is PL OK

However, there is a techinical problem with sections 45, 46, & 47.

LibriVox uses a specific audio format for its files: mono sound, 44.1 Khz 16-bit audio, encoded in the MP3 format at a constant 128 kbps bit rate. Although there are a lot of technical terms there, you don't need to understand them to create valid files. All you need to know is how to tell your audio editing software to use these settings. See the Wiki article below for step-by-step help.
More Information: LibriVox Wiki: Tech Specs

According the the Checker program, your sections are 48 hertz. I didn't listen to them yet as I wanted to be sure you are aware of the issue before you submit anymore sections.

Thanks, 45 sounded great.

I have resampled sections 45, 46 and 47 to 44.1kHz. I had already done that using the resample-feature in Audacity, but left the project settings at 48kHz which seems to have confused Audacity :hmm: The links to the files have remained the same as above.
Good to see you! - Ben.

Don't you just hate to look back on your typing to discover an embarrassing mistake? here = hear. <sigh>

The only pronunciation I noticed was with Titus. I have been hearing it with a long I; tie-tus
I have taken the liberty of re-recording the intro to section 11, with "Titus" pronounced "Tie-tus", so it's consistent. Please have it re-PL'ed.

In the beginning of chapter 50, the name Julius Mento is mentioned, preceeded by "Cn." I assume that stands for "counsel", as mentioned two words later, as well as on Wikipedia. How should I pronounce this? Should I say "See-En" or "Counsil"?

Hi, merendo. Thanks for asking! I actually think it means Gnaeus. That is the standard abbreviation for the Latin name, like C. for Gaius ad L. for Lucius, and that is the name Livy uses for the consul Julius Mento.

SEction 11 PL OK

I'm not sure what the notes were for as I didn't initially PL this section. I saw reference to odd sounds, but I heard none.

Sounds great! wonderful to listen to.

Thank you, aren't you nice :) I also find the material very interesting, and enlightening... Many things the author talks about don't seem to have changed at all in over 500 years :hmm:

Hello! Can I please claim sections 52, 53, 54 56, 59, 60? I think these are the remaining unclaimed sections.

Also, I had a look at the HTML version of the text on Gutenberg and it only seems to go up to chapter 49. Am I missing something?

Regards,
Hypatia

YAY! Thanks for claiming! :)

If you just rolled to the end, you probably went too far: that html has the full three books of the work, and the third book finishes with chapter 49. But here we are doing just Book 1.
