Praise received for skilmer (Sharon Kilmer) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I have recently listened to two books read by Sharon Kilmer. These are The Mystery of the Sycamore, by Carolyn Wells, and The Postmaster's Daughter, by Louis Tracy. Sharon is a good reader, with strong clear and unaffected voice. I enjoyed the mentioned mystery stories and the hours of relaxing entertainment. Thank you, Sharon.

Praise received for Leesma (Lee Smalley) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

The Shadow by Arthur Stringer

I so enjoyed this book even though it isn’t the genre I would normally listen to but Lee Smalley is one of my favourite readers so I thought I would try it and I do think Arthur stringer’s prose style is excellent, and hope that Lee Smalley will at some point read another of his books. It does seem a shame that this author has only one book available on LibriVox.

Thank you so much again Lee Smalley it is a pleasure to listen to you.

Praise received for k5hsj (Winston Tharp) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
From this collection: https://librivox.org/short-poetry-collection-098/

I just listened to his reading of Domination of Black by Wallace Stevens and thought it was excellent. I was really drawn in and his voice is amazing.

and regarding his recording of A Bullet for Cinderella...
This was the first John D. MacDonald book outside the Travis McGee
series (of which I have read all of them multiple times). I found this
librivox recording and thought I would give it a go.

The reader was solid. I even liked the way he altered the recording when
he was doing the radio announcement.

Keep up the good work.

Praise received for NKWhitley (Nick Whitley) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Nick,

My daughter and I are listening to your recording of "The Children of the New Forest (version 2)" and I just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful job you did reading! I love that you've got different, consistent accents and voices for the various characters as it makes it easy for us to track who is who. Also, your cadence is perfect for the difficulty of the text and those unfamiliar with the story.

Thank you for taking a beautiful story and making it accessible to my daughter and I. I've looked up other books read by you because we're enjoying your reading so much!

Respectfully,

Christie

Praise received for jvanstan (John Van Stan) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Dear John,
Just finished listening to your recording of The Three Musketeers, which I enjoyed very much. You did a great job on the different voices, male and female!
Sustaining them through the whole book was an accomplishment.
Best regards,

Praise received for LibraryLady (Annie Coleman Rothenberg) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

To Whom it May Concern and Annie,

You’re version of Pride and Prejudice is my 3 children and my lullaby. We’ve been listening to it since 2009 when I was pregnant with my oldest. He said Darcy at age 2. We LOVE your voice!!! We also love your Anne of Green Gables series. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these!!!

I read somewhere a few years ago that you had stopped recording because you had started your own family. I sell baby carriers for kids from preemie size to up to size 12 clothing. I would love to offer to gift you a baby carrier, so that you can snuggle with you child as your recordings have allowed me to snuggle and listen together.

Warmest Regards,

Rachel

Praise received for neustar (Bob Neufeld) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Hello,
I have recently downloaded and listened to Bob Neufeld's reading of Tess of the d'Ubervilles (V3). I thoroughly enjoyed the reading. Bob has a very good voice for reading and he is very articulate. The different timbers of voices that he uses for the different characters leads one's mind to imagine that you are standing next to the speaker. I have downloaded other books from this author, simply because Bob is the reader. He has influenced my "reading" list immensely.

Please thank him on my behalf.
and...
Mr. Newfeld

Last year I read "A Picture of Dorian Grey" I recently came across "The Cloak" by Gogol and heard your voice once again. It brought a smile to my face as if I was reconnected with an old friend. Thank you for your contributions to Librivox.
and...

Hello,

Please thank Bob Neufeld who in my opinion gives the BEST reading of
Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Version 4). Since losing 1/2 my vision to a
detached retina I certainly enjoy Librvox and I've thanked readers
before. Then it occurred to me I listen to Mr. Neufled's version every year.

Thank you very much

Praise received for russiandoll (Philippa) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I wanted to thank Phillipa, for her reading of "The Life of Cicero", by Anthony Trollope.

I have listened to the whole book three times through, and today, I began the fourth.

Her Latin pronunciation is beautiful, her reading rhythm is sublime and when I read the printed book, it is her voice in my head that guides me through the long sentences of Trollope's 19thC writing style.

So. Thank you.

Also, I write letters to dead authors....

Praise received for Jacquerie (Jacquerie) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Dear Jacquerie,

I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed your reading of the novel, “That Affair at Elizabeth”. It is so kind of you to take the time to make these recordings so that people can enjoy these novels. Your reading was very clear, easy to understand and unhurried and your tone made the characters come alive.

Thank you for making this recording as it gave me many hours of pleasure and I now look forward to the listening to another one of your recordings.

Best Regards,
Michael

Mr. Greenman,

I recently enjoyed listening to both of your readings of Mark Twain's "The Innocents Abroad" and "Roughing It".

What a perfect voice you have for these stories!

Laura M.D.,

I wanted to thank you for reading the first five chapters of What Katy Did. I listened to them years ago (and I haven’t been on LibriVox in a while until now), but I still remember it. Thanks! You have a great voice; you use it well. I looked to see if you had any solo works here, but I haven’t found any yet. Feel free to let me know if you do any.

Here’s the link to the audiobook at hand:

Note: I’ve already PMed the reader myself.
