Solo ~ Tommy and the Wishing Stone by Thornton W Burgess (1874 - 1965).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/tommy-and-the-wishing-stone-by-thornton-w-burgess/
This is the story about Tommy and how he came to better understand the animals around him. Tommy has a favourite stone that he likes to sit upon to think about his day and ponder his troubles. He comes to name this stone the wishing-stone, as it seems to grant his impulsive wishes to become various animals that happen to cross his path while sitting there. Tommy learns first-hand about the exciting life of these animals and gains a new perspective after each exciting adventure. (SweetHome) (Keywords to be supplied at cataloging time)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=osu.32435058056664;view=1up;seq=1
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hey - you'll need to fill in the project template generator and use that for your first post. (You can copy its code, then edit your post here and paste it in.)

Here's the link for the generator:

Thank you for the guidance. Hope this is correct. I can construct a summary and a list of key words after I have read and recorded the book.

Fairly correct. As you probably noticed, what you put in as the title of the project was supposed to be only the title of the book, not the whole "solo - title by author" thing. ;) No big deal.

As you're the soloist, you're in charge of updating the Magic Window.

Detailed Instructions for accessing the Magic Window can be found in the document linked here: Instructions for Soloists

Video showing how to use the Magic Window (read the above document first - it has the information on how to log in for the first time, which this does not have):
Magic Windows / Section Compiler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOP4tcr1kl8

I've entered the first two chapters for you as an example. You can fill in the rest.

When you upload a chapter, put the file duration (mm:ss) in the Notes field and the uploaded URL into the Listen URL field, and mark it from Assigned to Ready for PL.

We'll hang out here a little while and see if we can snag a DPL. :) Holler if you have questions!
