It was a pleasure listening to you, Graham.

A few PL notes for you:

Ch 8.
According to the LV checker, volume here is 79.2
To meet tech specs, it should be between 89-92.
Please Amplify by, I think, +10; that should bring you into range. (But of course, please run an LV checker session. *smile*)

Missing text:
2:00 ... wound many times round his neck.

30:19 Text" ... resisted by flight"
Said: "resisted by fight."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 9
Volume at 83.7
Amplify of +6 should do well.

10:13 Text: "... gleamed a corona"
Pronounced "coroner"

Outstanding manic voice and pacing of Charles. Very effective.

Thanks for your contribution, Graham.
Just a few minor fixes and we have a *Great* recording here!

Graham, Chapter 8 is now PL okay! Your edits are seamless and makes this long piece as close to perfect as it gets for any of us. *Smile*

I'm still getting a volume reading of 83.1 on Chapter 9, though.

The sound has to be between 86-92 dB so that on the backend, the coordinator can best piece everyone's part together for final upload.
If you need help with leveling up, beyond the link Carolin shared, I'm sure that someone in the *HELP!* forum will be happy to assist. (They certainly have been accomodating to me when I've had questions!)

Thank you for your edits.
And always please feel free to ask questions of me; I'll help as much as I can.

Thank you both so much

Graham, you can use the leveler in these cases. If increases the volume without a risk of clipping :)

Graham, your volume for Chapter 9 is at 84.1 dB.

Here is the link to the LV Checker; it may be helpful to you.
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Please let us know what we can do to help you get the recording into the required range of 86-92 dB, with a preferred average of 89.
We're happy to assist.

Thank you both

Getting the volume right can be difficult, sorry if this is a little frustrating graham. Best you can do is amplify as much as possibld without clipping, and then use the leveler. That should bring your volume up. Thank you

Good deal, Graham!
We are now at 86.1 dBs, and that works within the range. *Smile*
Thank you for continuing until you got it there!

I know how frustrating it can be ... but I have been surprised at how much easier it has all become over six months of recordings here!

Best to you, and I truly look foward to hearing more from you.
