10:33: You're missing "It was foolhardy to venture too far from land" between "monsters and demons" and "We can hardly"
12:23: You're missing "and the sun would remain steadily at the same height above the horizon" between "of his journey" and "if he always"
19:50: Ending silence is too long. It should be about 5 seconds, and yours is about 6.5 seconds
Oh, and despite saying you'd "be more careful about typos in the naming", your file name is wrong. It should be 'timetellingthroughtheages_09_brearley_128kb', with an 'e' in Brearley, and an underscore rather than a hyphen.

PL OK! Well, except for the fact that the name is still wrong (it's 'through', not 'though'). I swear you're doing this deliberately now...tommack wrote: ↑December 1st, 2018, 11:53 am Here's the corrected Chapter 9 length now 20:34

(If you ask me, what I read did not help me understand how the clock actually works. All those wheels... )

Thanks a lot Kiki.
Sorry to hear you are none the wiser about clocks. Happy to give you some pointers if you wish - I'm a qualified clockmaker...
Best Regards, Chris.

Thanks, Chris. To each one his own trade I suppose. I do understand the general idea - wheels moving, a mechanism to let them revolve only step-by-step, power coming from the spring etc. But I think I'd rather not know all details to the end and be able to imagine the whole structure clearly - I somehow feel that a watch would loose part of its magic if I knew too much.
Those chapters were fun reading though! And I will most probably listen to the whole book when it is in the catalog.
Best,
Kristine
