Provided there's no immediate deadline, I can purchase a cheap headset/microphone sometime later this week, which will likely eliminate the background noise and help with clarity. I will also take the steps you mentioned to adjust for volume concerns.
I can wait until you get a headphone. Are you using Audacity?

Craig
Yes, I am using Audacity. However, the latest version is very dissimilar to what is described on the newbie recording guide.

Your 1 minute test was well read enz.

Did you check the volume with MP3gain?

Volume was 80.5. We like it at 89.

If you have questions about MP3gain let me know.

Otherwise you are good to go.

I did not check the volume, but how can I make it louder? I still do not fully understand how to increase the volume of something I have recorded.

If you install MP3Gain you would take your recorded file and add it to that proogram. Click on track analysis and the program will let you know your volume level and if you need any gain. If you do need gain click on track gain and the volume will be automatically incleased and it will show the new volume level. Then you can upload your file.

Try it will your test recording.

Hello Craig,

My sincere apologises, but one of my family's household dogs got a hold of my Trust microphone and decided that it would be a perfect toy to chew (the little rascal!). As a result, the wire has been completely chewed off the mic, so I will not be able to successfully complete my audio recording for Section 27: Chapter 28 - Of Moral Relations.

Until I purchase another microphone, I will not be able to audio record.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Chad
