All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-story-of-a-bold-tin-soldier-by-laura-lee-hope/
"Yes, I suppose you may say I have, admitted the Bold Tin Soldier. "But though my men and I have a fine home with Arnold, still I get lonesome for you toys once in a while. I have met the Sawdust Doll, the White Rocking Horse, and the Lamb on Wheels. Now I am glad to meet you all once more. And how is my friend the Candy Rabbit?" the Captain asked, as he saw the long-eared chap standing near him." This is the story of one of the toys created at Santa's workshop in North Pole Land, who comes down to earth to live with a fortunate little boy or girl. ( Nan Dodge, quote from the book)

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Wonderful, thank you! I recorded six of the ten chapters this morning and hope to fix them in the next day or so.

Nan, may I ask where you're from? I'm trying to get better at distinguishing accents, and I'm just curious. If you don't want to share that information, that's fine of course!

I've been told I sound like I'm from England (which I am, but not first or second generation -- more like fifth through 14th generations back.) I've lived in New Jersey most of my life. :)

Hopefully, back to the "Bald Tin Soldier" today, if my Internet allows!

Nan
