Hi Lynne,

Will you be doing the PL on this project?

If not, may I claim DPL? :D

You may... I was just doing it until you volunteered :D :D

Hello.

This will be my first attempt at recording a chapter.
'QuasiMoisey' will be fine for the screen name.
I would like to read section 4 please.
'Dissention in the Ironworkers Guild.'
Please let me know if that would be okay.

Thank you!

Hi and welcome to Librivox!
There are a few things to do before you get started.
You will need to complete a one minute test - this is to check your specs are up to Librivox standards, and if not, you'll be given hints on how to remedy that. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Please post your test in the Listeners Wanted forum (see the dropdown at the bottom of the page) for the speediest response. Waiting for the OK may seem tedious, but can save time in the long run.
I will add you to the catalog. We can also link to a personal blog or website. If you click on your name in the Magic Window, you will see your own personal catalog page.
Be sure to read the first post - all the info you need is there, but if anything doesn't make sense, just ask. The wiki (see the top of the page) has bundles of info too.

Thank you. How long is the file please?

Also, is this section 4 or section 5? You were signed up for section 5 and another reader has claimed section 4.
If it is section 5, please re-upload with the correct file name: swordmaker_05_barr_128kb.mp3 . Thank you.

It is 40 min 25 sec and 38.8 MB. It is section five, but in the book it is chapter four. I renamed and reloaded it.

I know it can be confusing, but at LV we use section numbers, which don't necessarily correspond with chapters. If a chapter is too long for our system to handle, which is about 72 minutes/ 8000 words, we have to split it into two or more sections. Sometimes, if the chapters are very short, say under 3 minutes, we combine them. And then sometimes we get books with no chapter 13, for example, or two chapter 27s
Always read the first post for what you should actually read, but file names always have the section number.
