May I claim
18: How the doges of Venice were chosen, from the old chronicles
and
129 How Portugal opened commerce with India (1498), by Jules Verne ?
glad you take part in this book as well, Angelique :) Unfortunately, Lynda claimed section 18 right before you, but section 129 is definitely yours. Enjoy

thank you

thank you, Leni :9: yes, these will be a bit of a home-terrain for you. We're slowly getting over the Atlantic in the series. But first there is still a bit of Europe to cover.

And Jim, thanks also for your sections. Will try to PL them all today. (I have quite a backlog right now :? )

excellent, Nemo, thank you !!! I love the barely suppressed rage of Gregory in the Verona street scene. But the archbishop is simply too funny  you give him a sort of over-eagerness in his voice, it really sounds as if he was a fan, thrilled to the utmost to meet the world-famous Joan of Arc now. And Joseph finally has a bit of a smirk which I like too, especially the hypocritical lines where he dislikes the poems in his aside but caters to Richelieu's vanity right in the next sentence.

Gregory and Archbishop already PL ok.

For Joseph, there's one small note:

> at 0:05: (p. 249) “methinks your cheek” etc, can be cut out, this is Richelieu still speaking after Joseph has entered

thank you for participating :9:

Here are Capulet and Petrarch:
and thanks again for those two excellent readings ! I see your Capulet is first still a bit restrained but then in the next sentence he can't contain his anger anymore. Nice touch.

in both sections I have a small PL note though, this time, sorry (quickly corrected though ;) )

for Capulet:

> at 0:01: for the voice credit, I wanted to assemble a coherent sentence, so you would have to read it like this: Jim Locke as Capulet (see note here: viewtopic.php?p=1521638#p1521638 )

> since you have to reupload anyway, could you please write “jim” or “capulet” in your file-name ? In drama sections we need to differentiate the files that come in, otherwise each file would get overwritten by the next ;) only the final assembled file will have the standard file-name. Thank you

for Petrach:

> at 0:25: repeat of “Francesco Petrarch” in the title, can be cut out once

the rest was perfectly fine. :)

Here are a few more of my sections. Sorry to put more on your PL list--no worries if it takes a bit longer, I know you're really busy!
thank you, Foon, you are so fast. 8-)

Yes I probably won't be able to PL today, but will do so tomorrow at the latest.

well listening to your sections is always a pleasure :) and these are beautifully read again, and no textual errors at all.

Only one thing, in 4 of the sections, you forgot to say “This recording is in the public domain” at the end :?

Section 16, at 2:27 / Section 58, at 2:09 / Section 65, at 2:00 / Section 98, at 3:14

Section 43 is already PL ok, there for some reason you remembered to insert this line ;)

Thanks

PS did you also think that the hierarchy system to serve the Queen is terribly confusing ?
