Five Children and It by E. Nesbit (1858 - 1924).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page:https://librivox.org/five-children-and-it-version-5-by-e-nesbit/
The book follows the journey of five children who discover a mysterious creature (called by them as It) who grants them their wishes. Join in as they ask for the craziest of wishes, which are granted true for a day! ( bhavya)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/17314
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

just fyi, it will be version 5. There are 2 solos, 1 DR and a group project already catalogued. You still can do it, some people like to add something different and are disappointed when they are not the first.

All set.
Just a couple of things: you can ignore the ID tags (and delete that section in the first post) if you wish.
Also, when you set up a project, it is important to add the number of sections to the template... leaving it blank means no MW is generated. The number of sections can easily be adjusted later if necessary. I was able to look it up for you, but please bear it in mind in future 8-)
Moving straight to Going Solo.

Just a small update:
I have my IB school exams coming up in two weeks, and they last for two weeks, so I might not be able to get much recording done in these four weeks, but after that I have my christmas break, and will be relatively free, and then I can record more.

A solo is on your schedule. We just ask you post every couple of months, even if it's only to say "life's hectic, back to recording soon" 8-)

Awesome thank you! There are a few things I found in the recording

The recording came in at 92.3 db, which is above the librivox setting of 87-91 db. So if you just amply it down -0.3 or -1.3 at the most that would be great.

At 1:29 the words "instead of" seem garbled or chopped up. The text reads "and even to pay the driver, instead of joining in", but it sounds like "and even to pay the driver, in(cut)stid(cut)of joining in".

At 10:07 You clear your throat. You can just edit it out.

The reading was great, your voice is wonderful and I could listen to it for hours. Thank you so much :D
