Actually, if you could, I think you'd make a great "Jimmy The Hound" - he's a college boy who breaks his leg during a race across country (the game is Hare and Hounds, so obviously Jimmy is one of the "hounds"). He has quite a lot to say, including some poetry, which I think would be interesting for you!

I also need a "Jabez Inglewood" in Ch 7 to read a letter to the children, and a Clergyman in Ch 9. That's 4 chapters' worth, if you felt like taking up one of the "Workmen" in Ch 11 that would be great too!

Hi Nemo! Many thanks, I'll put you down for all of these except Bill the Bargee, which is under discussion by PM - if the person I've asked doesn't take it then you can have that one as well!

Could I interest you instead in either the signalman or bailiff in Ch 12? The signalman falls asleep on duty, later the bailiff comes to help the "hound" after he breaks his leg.

Thanks Eva, these are all PL OK!

Nesbit is a brilliant read - there are her three "Psammead" books in the catalogue as DRs, and Cori read a lovely selection of her short stories! There is another book of hers which is on my list to go after this one, "The Magic City".

Beth,
There's a phrase in chapter 4 that might be taken on by Bill the Bargee, who otherwise only appears in Chapter 8. Would you like me to leave a gap for him?
Peter had once asked one of the bargees the time, and had been told to “get out of that,” in a tone so fierce that he did not stop to say anything about his having just as much right on the towing-path as the man himself.

Yes please! This character has only just been claimed, so I'll adjust the MW. Thanks for picking that up!
