Hi Peter! Nice to hear your voice again! :9: Thank you for your contributions!!
"Death be not proud" is in the MW marked PL OK!
"Parson Gray" is missing the last verse, I think. So it just needs this small addition in the end ;)

Craig's "Pharsalia", and Sonia's "Auf dem Heimweg" are also in the MW. Thank you guys! I love your reading! :D

and here I found a funny one and also very fitting for autumn. It's all about apples and how they tasted better in our youth. Somehow it's quite a modern complaint. The apples tasted better when I was a kid. :9:

The poem is even funnier if you know the French original by Villon, who also complains about where the good old times have gone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballade_des_dames_du_temps_jadis

All right, here's my spoof version now:

"The ballad of departed pippins" by anonymous

Hi Rapunzelina -

Another poem from me -

Friendship After Love by Ella Wilcox Wheeler (1850 – 1919)
Text URL: https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/friendship-after-love
Duration: 1:04
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc185_friendshipafterlove_ps_128kb.mp3

A poem for the autumn, although the title doesn't suggest it.

An interesting counterpoint to Death Be Not Proud. Not that I intended it as such. I planned to record this a week ago, but a head cold got in the way. (If you listen closely you may still be able to hear traces of it in some of my final nasals. I hope it's not too intrusive.)

Thank you, Peter, Sonia, Phil and Grant (nothing intrusive whatsoever, and I hope you're feeling totally fine now :9: )

All the poems had an autumn feeling, or maybe it was my impression after an entire day of rain

Hi Rapunzelina -

My third for the month -

A Psalm of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)
Text URL: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015018617145;view=1up;seq=203
Duration: 2:00
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc185_psalmoflife_ps_128kb.mp3

Wikipedia says, "...Longfellow scholar Robert L. Gale referred to "A Psalm of Life" as "the most popular poem ever written in English"." I'm surprised it wasn't in the LV Catalog.
