Greetings -
Chapter 5 notes:
At 1:24, the text has "the bent and venerable Major and Mrs. Ward; lawyer Riverson,". Reading has mayor instead of Major. (Tom's town wasn't big enough to have two mayors.)
Otherwise, PL OK.
This is going to be a fun book. It has been many a moon since I read Tom Sawyer and I am already catching some of Twain's sarcasm and social commentary that I missed before.

Hello,
Can I read the conclusion?
I’m sorry, the conclusion was claimed yesterday by Phil. I haven’t been able to put it in the MW because of a glitch in the system. Would you be interested in anything else?

Greetings -
The reading was just fine, but, oops, you omitted the standard opening introduction.
Lomond
EDIT by Phil (Hope you don't mind me piggybacking here Lomond) : Read it as specified in the first post Of course in this case you would say "Preface of The Adventures...." and at the end say "end of preface"
Make sure you add this to the beginning of your recording:
START of recording (Intro)
"Chapter [number] of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
" The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain [Chapter]"
END of recording
At the end of the section, say:
"End of [Chapter]"
If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain "
Hi guys,
Will fix on Monday. Thanks,
Rachel

As BC you should post this link into the Magic Window "Listen URL" box, and then mark it "Ready for PL"
Oh, ok, I’ll do that next time. Thanks!

I would happily withdraw my claim to the conclusion so that bhavya can have it! In fact I wish you wouild do that.

Hi,
I am brand new and this will be my first recording. I'm a little nervous, but eager to get started. I'd like to read chapter 1 if it is still open.

Welcome to LibriVox! Before I sign you up for chapter 1, I need to know a little bit of information so I can add you as a reader. Please read the first post of this thread carefully.
Please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal web site/blog.
I hope you have fun with your first recording!

Phil,
How do I take off your name from the conclusion in the MW? I've added Bhavya, too. Thanks!
