IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated). Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Great Barbara,
I will listen to this today.
Buon viaggio!
Pam
No, no, don't waste your time. I just listened to it again myself and confirmed my impression that there was something wrong with the mic. I will record it again with another mic.
I will listen to this today. I am sorry you are having Audacity problems. I was having a lot of crashes and I uploaded the latest version, which seemed to help, though I still have more crashes than I used to. I have taken to deleting the big audacity project folders once my mp3 gets PL'd.

"Quiet minds cannot be perplexed or frightened but go on in fortune or misfortune at their own private pace, like a clock during a thunderstorm."
Best to shut down other programs while using Audacity. I recommend exporting to flac or wav as a backup until your mp3 is marked PLOK, and not saving the audacity files at all. Both are lossless formats. I use wav files for work in progress, but flac files are smaller if you are short on space. Both are way smaller and far less complicated than the way audacity saves its files. Unless you are saving multiple tracks, such as music and vocals for example, to merge inti single track at a later time, there is no advantage to saving as audacity files.
