Driven Back To Eden by Edward Payson Roe (1838 - 1888).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/driven-back-to-eden-by-edward-p-roe/
Frustrated with life in the tenements generally and the negative influences on his children specifically, a father decides to move his family to the country, where they can live off the land and breathe fresh air. ( David Gore)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5269
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Perhaps because I've only been involved in group projects, but I normally expect to see a note that a project is "open for business".

I have not had the opportunity to try a solo project, as yet, so I'd like to put in my claim for this one, if I'm not being too forward.

Posting as a solo project in the launch pad indicates that the person posting it intends to record it.

Here's information on how to start your own solo recording: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=13513

Also, here's a list of suggestions for books by E.P. Roe posted by LikeManyWaters: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=71570

David,
I can set this up for you. A question before I start. I notice that there are 44 chapters and you have requested 45 sections. Do you wish the preface to be the first section (e.g. 00)? You have indicated "no preface" even though there is one. Do you intend to read it?

Yes, I intend to do the preface as a separate section. I missed the question in the template generator.

Off to set up the MW.

edit: Let me know if anything is amiss. Do you have someone in mind as DPL. If not we can advertise for one. Start recording whenever you are ready.

Everything looks OK to me. This book was a suggestion by LikeManyWaters (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=71570) - perhaps he/she might like to DPL? Otherwise, please advertise!

:) I'm thrilled you're doing one of my suggestions  , but I'm actually recording another Roe book right now, too, and it's a long one. I haven't done any PLing yet either. But thanks for thinking of me. I may learn how to do that in the future. (Of course, I'd also have to clone myself or just learn how to do without sleep altogether.)

The ~ before the book title in the subject line will let others know that we are looking for a DPL.
