Hi Joan,
Thanks for your interest in the project! I've reserved this section for you for know. However, before you get started, please start with completing a 1-minute test. This is not an audition, but rather, a way to make sure you have all your settings up to LV standards--which is easier to do on a short test recording than on a full section! The instructions for it can be found here:
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test

Additionally, I would need to know under what name or pseudonym you'd like to be listed in the catalog.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have posted my 1 minute test in that forum. Do you also want me to post it here?

Hi Joan,
That's fine, I can find it now :) I can't listen to it right now to give feedback, but I'll try to get to it later in case someone else isn't there first.

I will still need to know under what name/pseudonym you'd like to be in the catalog.

Cheers,
Foon

You may use Joan Windle in the catalog, unless personal names are discouraged. Then I could be "Toadkeep".

That's entirely up to you, many people use their real names, and many people don't. There's nothing inherently good or bad about doing either ;) Just personal preference.

I've signed you up and assigned section 5 to you. Your personal catalog page can be found here: https://librivox.org/reader/12825

Have fun recording, and let me know if you have any questions!

Anyone: The Gutenberg text has letters and numbers in brackets scattered through the text, like this: [FN#47] . We are not supposed to read these, are we?

No, you can skip those--they refer to footnotes, but you can leave those out. :)
