thank you, Alan for this flawless recording. PL ok straight away. This painting looks like a still from one of this big Hollywood blockbusters about the Roman Empire.alanmapstone wrote: ↑September 15th, 2018, 1:50 am Section 81 - Ave Caesar

Thank you Sonia for the compliments.Kitty wrote: ↑September 15th, 2018, 1:38 amthank you, April, perfect reading all through the text this is PL ok on the first go. Although I knew the story of Romulus and Remus already, this text presents new info, like why he had to plough around the city to mark the walls. Interesting. And the bloody finale was well acted out by youadr6090 wrote: ↑September 14th, 2018, 10:16 am https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume04_39_tappan_128kb.mp3 time 12:23

No rush. My wife and I are in a hotel to avoid the expected flooding in our woods, so I can't work. I always suffer withdrawal at these times. Be well. Oh, yes, tennis is an Olympic sport. Jim

I can understand about the withdrawal symptoms yes LV is quite addictive.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑September 16th, 2018, 12:57 pmNo rush. I hope you are safe in the hotel and that your house is not flooded through when you return.
Your section is PL ok. Many footnotes this time Hearing about all the contests made me remember my holidays in Greece a few years ago. I also visited Olympia and was actually standing in the old arena. It was quite an uplifting feeling to think that the Olympics were born there.
Thanks for yet another fabulous section.

yay, thank you April. Ah a classic moment in Roman history, the murder of Caesar ! Such a tragedy that he got so many warnings and still the drama unfolded. Of course these facts may only be a romanticised versionadr6090 wrote: ↑September 16th, 2018, 1:12 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume04_61_tappan_128kb.mp3 time 8:52

Thanks. Yeah, Greece is on our travel list. I like the image of you conjuring up the games in your mind. Jim
Thank you Sonia,
Caesar did seem like a bit of a fool to not have heeded the warnings & than he gets stabbed in the neck.

Hello Sparna, welcome to this project. I can reserve the section for you, but first I would like you to do a one-minute-test, so we can check that your technical set-up is all up to LibriVox standard. Could you upload and post your test in this subforum please ? viewforum.php?f=21 and then someone will check it and give you the ok or advice on what to change. Once the test is approved, you can let me know, and I'll officially sign you up
Thanks
Sonia
