I can take Section 19 - CHAPTER IX - SANTA CRUZ, PATAGONIA, AND THE FALKLAND ISLANDS - Part 2.

I am new to Librivox but have some podcasting experience! I am really excited to be part of this forum.

Great! Welcome to the wonderful land of LV! We have fun here.

Let us know if you have any questions at all!

And before I forget, if you'd like your name and/or website in the catalog, please let me know what it/they is/are.

Cheers!

I've listened to Ch 19, pts 1 and 2, and they're PL-OK! Australia sounds like a very scenic place, but difficult to colonise, and with much to overcome. Lucy, you must be very proud to be Australian. :)

Well, it took me longer to get to this than I expected, but Chapter 20 is now done!

I'll volunteer for Chapter 11, parts 1 and 2, too.

I listened to Chapter 20-1, and snipped a few minor repeats. Good work, Joseph! The edited file is here:

As also is 20-3. There was only one small repeat near the end, which I snipped. The edited file is here:

I would like to claim sections 22 & 23. As a biologist I can't resist taking pat in this book.

Thanks,

Bryan

I'd like to take the last section, 39, please.

His views on New Zealanders are pretty unenlightened, I can guess why this section was left unclaimed until last, but somebody's got to do it :?

Bryan,

It looks like jugoretz has already requested these two sections (Chapter XI, parts 1 and 2) a couple of posts before yours in this thread. Scott (not.a.moose) just hasn't entered it into the magic window yet. Sorry about that. Perhaps if any chapters are ultimately orphaned in this project, you could pick up some of this book to read later on.

How did I miss that? Oh well, thanks for the tip. There are other fun projects, I just had more interest in this one.

Sorry for the extreme radio silence. I had to record the second part of Chapter Three twice -- either the file corrupted or Audacity doesn't like reloading a long section into memory. And my internet connection's been intermittent in my new house until yesterday. (Want any more excuses? I got at least four more back here! :) )

Anyway, it's uploading right now. More to come soon!

This section is perfect, Clode, and ready to catalog. The volume may need to be boosted a little. The file name incorporates the section number rather than the Chapter number like the other sections do - that should be fixd before it is posted to the server.

Nice work! :)

The perversity of technology!

After all that, I am sorry to have to point out that at 23:33 of this section, there is a short spurt where two voices are talking. I know you will soon get the best of it! :)
