Hello!
I am getting the "Error Empty file upload result" message.
The file is working fine when I listen; I've signed in and out and looked for fixes through the forum, but don't see a correction.
Will someone help, please?

Thank you!

Where are you getting the message? is it from the uploader?

Oh, sorry, Anne. I really should have said.
Yes, the error message is from the uploader; the file is in mp3 format, so I'm not sure why it's reading as empty.

Upload the file to a site like http://ge.tt and we can take a look at it to see if there's a problem with the file itself.

Thank you, Tricia.
That's a good resource!
The file went through there quickly and seems to be okay.

It's very odd, I think.
I will try to export it to mp3 again, but the last few times in that process haven't helped.
Hmmmm.

No, the ge.tt link. The name of the file doesn't help us find it on the World Wide Web. 8-)

It'll be something like http://ge.tt/7oVpzqo2

I downloaded it to my computer and tried uploading it. I also got the error message:

Code: Select all

undefined Error Empty file upload result
It passes the Checker. :hmm:

EDIT: I imported it into Audacity and exported it again. It also got the error message.

This one's beyond my pay grade.

Hm. Just odd. I was able to upload another file with no problem; shall I rerecord it? Fortunatley, it's only 2:20 so it'll only take me another hour to do so?

More tests:

Exported the file as FLAC; it still failed. (tried to send it to the Tests folder; the other ones were to Aradlaw)

Tried another random MP3 off my computer. THAT one worked fine.

You might as well try re-recording. Who knows??

I was puzzled by this and went to check in aradlaw's folder and there I saw no less than 26 uploads for your poem, Angelique, over the course of 4 hours. I suspect that was you trying to get it uploaded, so in fact they did upload. The file name has a strange square at the start and when I downloaded an example, it translated to
%c2yif_kipling_agc_128kb on my computer.
I suspect that was the problem, you had a sign at the start of your file name, which is not supported, either " or / or whatever this could be. Actually running it through checker I got the following message: "The following characters should be avoided in file names because they cause problems on some computer platforms: :\/*?&#$+%!`*|{}=@."

And once you renamed the new file correctly, it passed without problems.

I'm sorry you had to record twice, because the initial file actually seems to have passed. :?
