Hi there! Welcome to Librivox - nice to meet another Rode user!

All the information you need should be in the first post, but if you get stuck just post back here.

What do you want as your catalogue name? That's the part where you read your voice credit "read by ..." It can be your real name, your forum name or something else...

NishthaRocks -

Elizabby is going to need the time for the Section 11 recording - just letting you know before she asks you for it :)

Great! Thanks so much Lynda - your other sections are all in the MW and you have these ones - which means we are FULL!

Since this project is fully claimed, I am moving it to "Readers Found."

Shaggy Man is now FULL, so I am launching the last currently available Oz book, The Silver Princess in Oz.

Now taking claims at the green link in my signature file.

Thanks Nedge, all those files are on the MW!

Thanks Lomond - glad to hear you are still on it! There's no particular rush, and that's a lot of files to get through!

Greetings -

Section 11:

The reading is good...I like the accent. The volume level could be a bit higher but is not a problem. Personally, I like the sound effects that you have added but I do not know if that is kosher with the Librivox leaders. PL OK if not a problem with the sound effects.

Section 14:

Sounds good. PL OK.

Thanks Lomond - I'll check Section 11 myself, that can be marked PL notes and I'll switch it to PL Ok or leave more notes.

EDIT: I've checked Section 11 and the voice effects used are fine.

Just as a word of explanation, there are two main reasons LV doesn't use sound effects/music:

1) Copyright issues: downloading sound effects or music may violate the copyright of the creator - these "voice effects" of giggling, nose blowing, etc were clearly recorded by the reader as part of the reading, so this doesn't apply.

2) Clarity of the text: putting music (especially) or thunder or other "atmospheric effects" under the text make it hard to hear for some people. In this case the footsteps and other sounds occur between the text (and are relevant to the text immediately preceding) so they don't obscure the text.

After that, I would say it is a reader interpretation to add laughter, giggles and other "voice effects" created by the reader, as appropriate. I don't do it myself in a book reading (only in a Dramatic Reading) but I think it works here.

Section 11 is therefore PL OK!
