Med Ship Man by Murray Leinster (1896 - 1975).

This project is complete and can be found in our catalog at https://librivox.org/med-ship-man-version-2-by-murray-leinster/
Scattered through the galaxy are thousands of worlds colonized by humans. Many have native microbes dangerous to the human immigrants. Others have diseases brought to them accidentally—or on purpose—by visiting ships. When millions of lives are threatened, it's a job for the Interstellar Medical Service, and a Med Ship is sent to solve the problem.

Calhoun is the best the Med Service has, and hard experience has taught him that often the major obstacle to curing the sick is ... the sick. And removing that kind of obstacle may take very strong medicine. To find a cure for a disease, Calhoun has the help of his small animal companion Murgatroyd, a formal—a species with the most powerful immune system in the galaxy. But to find a cure for hysteria, prejudice, crime, and even war is much more complicated, requiring considerable ingenuity. Fortunately, ingenuity is something that Calhoun has in good supply... IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thank you Linny. My time is not my own these days but I do enjoy recording as a break. :D Most of my time is spent taking care of my wife but she is doing well so far.

Part 3
22:50 slight stumble on “inquisitively”

Adorable “warmest version of chee”

Phil,
The last time I worked with you, you were rebuilding after the hurricane. I’m so sorry to hear that your wife is not well. I do hope that her condition is temporary and she will soon be back to dancing.

Part 3 fixed and uploaded again. along with 4 and 5.

Thank you for the good wishes. Betty's dancing days are over. She is not well at all physically and her dementia (altzheimers) is slowly getting worse too. Most of my time is involved with her now but I do enjoy recording a few things when I get the chance.

You liked the 'adorable chee' eh? great!

Phil,
Med ship man is PL OK. This was a fun listen. Thank you.

I’m terribly sorry to hear that this devistating disease has found your Betty. I volunteer with the Alzhiemier’s Association. If you haven’t already found them as a resource I hope you will. They offer online education, a blog, 24 hr phone support, local caregiver meetings, and a research database.

Please take care of yourself and know that I’m here to listen if you ever want to reach out.

Be well,
Linette

Thank you Linny, I will certainly use your offered services. About Altzheimers services, I use their 24 hour phone service regularly and it is wonderful! They have helped me through some tough situations so far. No support group near me though so that is great. Image I;m still smiling!
