thanks, April, these sections are both PL ok. There was no need to repeat the title of the painting twice, but you don't have to reupload, it's fine as it is :) Better twice than not at all  I loved the anecdote about the sleeping cat :9: such short tidbits are always interesting to listen to.

While the market-scene sounded a bit too crowded and noisy for my taste.

so you're saying he was held against his will ? It didn't seem to me like it. I know he was in undiscovered regions, but he knew he would be venturing there, so I figured, he must have made some kind of provisions to let people know of his whereabouts in some way even if only once every few months. But yes, it was probably very difficult back in the days.

Not at all....its just there was no infrastructure and no message system. He was literally in the "wilds of darkest Africa" (a reflection of the lack of knowledge about the continent and its people) and he was one of the first non-Africans to penetrate beyond the coastal areas. He didn't have means to communicate, and didn't worry about it all that much.

Section 6 is, of course, PL OK! I particularly liked the phrase" hewing his way."

thank you, Jim :) yes, this expression is quite graphic of what was going on there

Will probably PL your section tomorrow, as I don't think I can find the time still today.

But good news is that Part 2 of the series is being uploaded to archive at the moment :9:

I've been watching it this whole time, but I needed to hold off claiming while I took care of some real life things. As it is, I still won't be able to record until at least July.

wow I was surprised in the beginning of this story, for I was fully expecting a modern story, told by this reverend, but after 2 or 3 sentences I noticed that this narrative "I" was supposed to be a Phoenician back in the old days. 8-) I liked the story a lot. Also nicely and flawlessly narrated again, Jim. Absolutely PL ok.

Thanks !
