Well done! This was a massive project so kudos for everyone on finishing it!

I do just note however, that the summary at the start says it needs to be amended before cataloguing, as it was taken directly from Wikipedia. Sarah, are you in a position to do that, or do you need help with it?

Summary:

One of the most famous Italian books in history, The Betrothed was written by Alessandro Manzoni in 1827. The two main characters, Renzo and Lucy, are engaged to be married when Lucy tragically disappears. Little does Renzo know that Lucy has been kidnapped by a criminal, The Unnamed, feared by all the people of Northern Italy, where the story is set. Despite the threat of death and the fear of never laying eyes on one another again, Renzo and Lucy maintain a deep love for each other throughout the book that displays the true sacrifice and commitment of marriage. The book was recommended by Pope Francis to engaged couples in 2015 as preparation for marriage.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who helped me take this project all the way to the finish line!!! It is wonderful that we have reached the cataloging stage!

Readers: Special thanks to Mary, who narrated the ENTIRE book when she was only asked to do half, as well as prepping nearly ALL of the text, helping me BC in the early days of the project, and helping with editing. I really appreciate the amount of effort you put into the project. I wouldn't have even been able to get the project off the ground without you. Special thanks also to the other readers of the larger roles, including Elizabby, Larry Wilson, Rosalinger, and Mrs. Hand--I know those were large roles and required a lot of commitment to see them through.

Proof listeners: THANK YOU, Kim, for all the truly DEDICATED proof listening you did. I could count on you, and that was so needed and appreciated throughout the course of this project. Thank you also to the other proof listeners--Mary J, Jeanie, Nancy, Eduardo, Larry, Michele, and Mrs. Hand. You were all wonderful. This was such a large project, and we needed every one of you.

Editors: Thank you for all your help editing, Kim, Tricia, and Linny! Editing a project like this takes a LOT of time, effort, and commitment, and you all did it without complaint. I couldn't have asked for more... especially as editing is NOT up my alley! :? :9: :D

Thank you so much, Barry, for MC'ing. I know this was a huge project to take on, and we knew it would take a long time, but you have been here all four years to answer any and every question we had. That did not go unnoticed. Thank you.

And Linny! You basically co-BC'ed the book with me for the last two years!! Thank you so very much for keeping the project going when I was busy! You read lines, edited chapters, assembled the cast list, kept up the magic window, proof listened sections... and SO much more that I can't even think of. How many talents can one person have?!?! Thank you so much again. You don't know how much I appreciate it. Truly. Thank you.

And to everyone else who read a smaller part or who I neglected to mention... THANK YOU! We couldn't have done it without you!

Barry, would you mind listing Linny as co-BC with me on the cataloguing page, if that is okay with her? She did far too much work to not be listed as such.

Nice work -- 4 years!

I have two corrections to make, though. The voice of the "Old Woman 2" in Chapters 22 & 24 is not mine. I presume this is the old recording of the woman whose role was orphaned. Could you please edit in the recordings I submitted on January 19th:

Unknown: Why did you suffer her to sleep there? Were these my orders?
Old Woman: I did all I could; but she would neither eat nor come——

in a voice which she meant to be humble and gentle, said to her,
Old Woman: Ah! you have slept! You would have done better to go to bed; I told you so a hundred times.
Narrator: Receiving no answer, she continued,
Old Woman: Eat a little; you have need of something; if you do not, he will complain of me when he returns.
Lucy: No, no, I wish to go to my mother. Your master promised me, he said, to-morrow morning. Where is he?
Old Woman: He has gone away; but he left word that he would return soon, and do all that you should desire.
Lucy: Did he say so? did he say so? Well; I wish to go to my mother, now, now.
Narrator: Suddenly they heard steps in the adjoining chamber, and a knock at the door. The old woman demanded,
Old Woman: Who is there?
Unknown: Open,

I always keep projects on my watch list until they're done, so it is good to see this one going into the catalog. What a huge undertaking.
This is one of the biggest roles I had taken on after just a year with LV, and I thank you for letting me be a part of a great cast. We readers had the easy part. So, my congratulations!!

Sorry to be a pain, but this project still doesn't appear on my reader page:
https://librivox.org/reader/11790

The link from the book page to my reader page works, but there is no link back from my reader page to the book. Also on the app, there is a list of all the readers in red and my name doesn't appear on it.

:help:
