Everything except LibriVox (yes, this is where knitting gets discussed. Now includes non-LV Volunteers Wanted projects)

I've only BC'ed a few projects, but I've noticed that a decent percentage of my readers have been first-timers. I didn't recruit these people, but I still feel proud for helping facilitate their introduction to Librivox reading.

Who have you initiated into the Librivox reading community through a project you BC'ed? Alternatively, what work did you first read a section for? Who was your first BC? Here's my list in my short history so far:

My first book: Dot and the Kangaroo, BC'ed by luciburg

1) myard - in A Cosmopolite in a Café by O.Henry
2) lbrodrick - in Scarecrow of Oz by L. Frank Baum
3) shabam - ""
4) LeilaniLad - ""
5) peaceluvnchick - ""
6) sf914 - ""
7) cinthia - ""
8) Chip Joel - ""
9) blubbla
10) Patrick Beverley - ""
11) klharmon - ""
12) KOMunley - ""
13) dinobuddy - Legends of the Jews by Ginzberg

Maybe we could make a sort of family tree of Librivox...

Hugh's at the top of the pile, of course! After that, tis and I are the only first-wave volunteers who are still active, so I guess we're everyone's great-great-great grandparents or something :)

This is an interesting idea... but I'm afraid that it will start looking like some sort of hierarchy of power... which could be very misleading to new members. LibriVox only has Admins/MCs to keep things smooth-sailing, and ALL members are welcome to be as active (and as "powerful") as they choose to be by recording, listening, editing, and coordinating projects.

A very good point, Betsie!

So where would I be? The only project that I didn't BC or read Solo was the NaNoRiMo project. And it wasn't my first. :D

But ... how else are we to keep track of the feudal allegiances and and percentages of money owed to us and to our overlords, out of the vast sums of cash that come flowing in at the bottom of the pyramid?

What? You mean there is no money in it?
Whoah. This changes everything.
There is no frigate like a book / To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page / Of prancing poetry.

oh planish you make me laugh.
It might be more interesting to note if you have personally recruited readers, though we would still encounter hierarchal difficulties.
