ah, Alan, you're a wonderful Odd Man. I can imagine you would exasperate the poor mistress and master of the house  Excellent job...only, the file has either been cut off at 3:15, or you forgot to record the second half of your performance.

> the Odd Man reappears at the bottom of page 26 with "Gale sir, think of wind", then has lines on every page till p. 34.

Let's hope you still kept the original file. :? There's still more Odd to come ;)

Here is Mr. Cotton for A Day Well Spent. I was familiar of course with Hello Dolly, but also with the Thornton Wilder Matchmaker. Glad to see the original out of which they both sprung. Thanks for finding this!

Already put into the MW.

excellent additions, Alan  I love your "cookie, cookie, cookie" Oh my...it's a wonder the master and mistress didn't quietly leave the room during this whole fiasco to go and jump out of a window together. :?

We're almost done, Alan, only one line missing still (sorry :( )

> at about 5:22: (p. 29) missing line: (softly) “Order, order !”

and that's it ! Can't wait to hear the whole play in its entirety. Hopefully before Todd goes AWOL....

Playgoers is ready for final PL.

I took out some stage direction where I wanted scenes to flow a bit more quickly. I could probably pull out more of the stage directions, but this way the reader gets to suffer the same sense of frustration as the master and Mistress by listening to "Master, to the Parlourmaid" "Parlourmaid, to the Master" "Mistress, to the Cook" "Cook to the Mistress" etc etc over and over again....

Prepare to cringe as you relive this whole thing once more.

 hilariously shocking ordeal for master and mistress. Listening to this assembled for one hour was a real treat. I hope all of group will listen to this, each of them is awesome in their role. I especially loved Chris who gives the parlourmaid a reahly creepy character with his strange voice, and Devorah, who made me laugh each time she starts up with another wail. The cook is really unredeemably nasty and the housemaid tries to be very dignified (quite in contrast to her daughter the kitchenmaid, who is game for anything  ) Alan was so perfectly suited for the Odd Man, I couldn't have chosen better if I had been the cast director. And on top of this all, Tomas, interrupting the flow so often and, I agree, this is rendering the ordeal more palpable for our listeners as well. 8-) Finally, Todd, you and I do a might good job as the martyrs suffering through this and slowly drifting into hysteria. Great idea to be merging our voices in some parts where we say the same thing.

in a way you are right, but I thought, maybe in some parts we could take them out, sometimes when there is rapid-fire repartee, it doesn't work so well to be interrupted. I wrote down a few which I think you could lose, but it's up to you of course. Even if you leave them all in, this play is a GEM. :9:

> at 11:19: p. 14: "my hat. do you wish to include him ?" here I found your volume a bit odd. I know you want to convey whispering, but it sounds a bit too muffled :hmm:
> at 15:23: p. 16: "the mistress to the master" can be left out, as we really know who is speaking to whom
> at 17:21 and 17:24: p. 17: "sardonically" and "indignantly" are really breaking the flow of this rather rapid scene
> at 17:57: p. 18: "the mistress reproachfully"
> at 26:12: p. 22: "the mistress to the cook"
> at 36:08: p. 27: "the mistress frantically"
> at 39:07: p. 29: "the housemaid to the master"
> at 45:59: p. 32: "the useful maid with a wail" - at this point everybody will know who is wailing all the time and Devorah does such a great job that she doesn't need introduction of her actions ;)
> at 46:12: p. 33: "the useful maid blubbering"
> at 47:12: p. 33: "the master to the parlourmaid"
> at 47:54: p. 33: "the useful maid weeping"
> at 48:32 and 48:50: p. 34: "the mistress to the odd man" (twice). would be better if I really cut him off with "Silence" and "Be quiet", to make this faster
> at 51:19: p. 35: "the useful maid weeping"

These are all. In case you'd like to take out some or all, don't forget to start at the end, or you'll mess up the time-stamps ;)

Great job, in any case. Highly entertaining.
