In this exposition of the Ten Commandments, Martin Luther attempts to build a bridge between justification by faith and the life of the Christian manifested by good works. ( Larry Wilson)

Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool.      Channels: 1 (Mono)
     Bit Rate: 128 kbps
     Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
  7. DURING recording:
     No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!
     Make sure you add this to the beginning of your recording:
     START of recording (Intro)

     Need noise-cleaning?
     Listen to your file through headphones. If you can hear some constant background noise (hiss/buzz), you may want to clean it up a bit. The latest version of Audacity is recommended for noise-cleaning. See this LibriVox wiki page for a complete guide.

Here is how this book ends:

"The last two Commandments, which forbid evil desires of the body for pleasure and for temporal goods, are clear in themselves; these evil desires do no harm to our neighbor, and yet they continue unto the grave, and the strife in us against them endures unto death; therefore these two Commandments are drawn together by St. Paul into one, Romans vii, and are set as a goal unto which we do not attain, and only in our thoughts reach after until death. For no one has ever been so holy that he felt in himself no evil inclination, especially when occasion and temptation were offered. For original sin is born in us by nature, and temptation were offered. For original sin is born in us by nature, and may be checked, but not entirely uprooted, except through the death of the body; which for this reason is profitable and a thing to be desired. To this may God help us. Amen."

Not a Wesleyan perspective, but certainly informs the Reformed theology of today.

So, I did my one minute test and had no popping or clicking sounds... and I do this full-length recording and there's clicking sounds... not sure if this is acceptable . I tried to clean it up as much s I could. I hope this is salvageable.....

If my mic is just not good enough, I'll have to cancel my section and let someone else do it. I'm holding my mic under my chin, so I don't even know where those sounds are coming from .

First, Welcome to LibriVox. And thank you for your recording.

But, proper procedure is to wait until your claim has been acknowledged before recording and uploading. But, I will honor it in this case.

Since our DPL is experiencing some computer issues, I've done the PL for this one.

I think you have the mike too close to your mouth, so it is picking up all of your breath sounds, swallowing, etc. While some breath sounds are natural, some of these are distracting, but esp. so for the swallowing and I've noted a couple of those in my notes. These can be eliminated. Also one overly long pause is indicated.

There are some clicks near the beginning, mouse, I think, which can also be clipped out easily.

These might be acceptable under standard PL criteria, but I thought these comments might be useful as you get started.

The one thing that does need to be corrected is the ending silence which must be about 5 seconds, and your is much longer than this

If the problem is easily fixed by changing the placement of the mic, it won't be a lot of work for me to rerecord it. I not sure how much work it would be to edit. I can clip the silence at the end without a problem or I can just rerecord the whole thing. let me know what you'd prefer and I'll reupload.

I see in my haste to get to church I neglected to post me notes, so here they are.

0:57, 1:02, 3:00, 4:41 = mouth sounds
10:40 long pause


These are easy clips. Start at the back and work forward to keep the time stamps in place.
Don't forget to post the file lengths.
