Section 18 is yours. :) It will probably be 25-30 minutes of finished recording.

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Welcome, Manar! I see you've claimed a gazillion sections in different projects. :) I'll put you down for section 19; when you've submitted that, feel free to claim more.

Please do your 1-minute test first, however, before recording for this. You'll want your tech settings all correct before investing time in recording "for real". :)

I've put together a first draft for section 20; Duration 20:23
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/watergatereport3_20_senate_128kb.mp3

Only thing I wasn't sure of was how much detail to go into the inserted sections on P.1033, otherwise hoping ok :)

Let me know what you reckon, and if any adjustments required. Thanks :)

Seeing as how I was one of the people pushing to do this in the first place, I'd like to help it get finished and sign up for sections 21 and 22.

Section 20 - well read, but we do have to read the tables. :? I recommend recording the audio, then editing it in from last to first so that the time stamps on the earlier items aren't changed when you add in the new audio.

8:55 - "in the amounts of $37,942" - I hear "$73,942"

9:07 - need to read the tables. Unfortunately, the second one is ugly. :( So the audio at this point should be, "with respect to 516 Bay Lane as follows" (bolded portion was omitted)

I'd read the tables and text like this:
500 Bay Lane: Improvements, 24,734. Furnishings, 13,208. Total, 37,942.
516 Bay Lane: Improvements, 29,687. Furnishings, 8,792. Total, 38,479.
Total: Improvements, 54,421. Furnishings, 22,000. Total, 76,421.

The details of these expenditures are as follows.
IMPROVEMENT COSTS PAID BY PRESIDENT NIXON ON HIS KEY BISCAYNE PROPERTIES.
Contractor, Babcock Company Builders, Inc. Paid April 14, 1969.
Service: Remove existing bedroom and construct executive office. Paid May 16, 1969. 516 Bay Lane, 14,765.
Alterations and repairs, paid May 2, 1969 to May 13, 1969. 500 Bay Lane, 3224.19.
Alterations and repairs, paid April 24, 1969 and May 2, 1969. 516 Bay Lane. 799.49.
Alterations, executive office, paid August 11, 1969, 516 Bay Lane, 11,307.12.
Alterations and repairs, paid November 12, 1969, 500 Bay Lane, 6,299.44.

Contractor, Caldwell Scott Construction. Service: Remodeling. Paid July 29, 1969 and August 26, 1969. 500 Bay Lane, 15,210.38.
Contractor, Little, Lair and Pilkington. Paid April 14, 1969 and June 17, 1969. 516 Bay Lane, 2,132.60.
Contractor: metals Tech Inc. Service, panels. Paid October 1, 1969. 516 Bay Lane, 314.80.
Contractor: Rablen-Shelton. Service: furnishings. Paid Jly 31, 1969. 500 Bay Lane, 10,000. Paid October 31, 1970, 500 Bay Lane, 3,208.23. 516 Bay Lane, 8,791.77. Total: 12,000.00.

Total 500 Bay Lane, 37,942.24. 516 Bay Lane, 38,110.78. Total, 76,053.42. (I would be OK with omitting this line)

Loan charges per records, 516 Bay Lane, 368.50.

Total, 500 Bay Lane, 37,942.24. 516 Bay Lane, 38,479.28. Total, 76,421.52.
9:40 - need the whole table again. So "as follows:"
500 Bay Lane - Improvements, 54,364 Furnishings, 14,939 total, $69,303
516 Bay Lane - Improvements, 42,441 Furnishings, 9,930 total, 52,371
Total Improvements, 96,805 furnishings, 24,869 total, 121,674

14:21 - need whole table.
Feb. 10, 1969, $400
Mar. 7, 1969, $400
Mar. 19, 1969, $300
Apr. 2, 1969, $581
Total $1,681 (this part is in the recording already)

14:36 - need whole table.
Apr. 11, 1969 $754
May 26, 1969 300
July 22, 1969 600
Total 1,654 (this part is in the recording already)

18:02 - "Although Mr. Rebozo purported to make all 1969 cancelled checks" I heard "make all 169" (one hundred and sixty-nine)

Volume is low on the recording. Please amplify entire thing by 5 dB after having done your pasting in (assuming new audio is the same volume as the existing audio). :)

Holler if you have any questions about any of this (how to do it, etc.).

Section 20, Use of the Money: [25:40]
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/watergatereport3_20_senate_128kb.mp3

Thanks for the advice Tricia :) I've made all the amendments you mentioned in the notes. As I'm still getting to grips with Audacity, I saved the file pre-Amplification, if the setting has pushed the volume too far.. so easy to do again lower. I used 4.8db amp, with 0.23 on new peak, as that's what it defaulted to.

Let me know how it all sounds now :)

ps. Thanks for the tip about editing backwards.. ;)
