Mhm. I get that. Sorry to you all for the confusion. I'll get the fixed bitrate and silence length soon.Rapunzelina wrote: ↑May 7th, 2018, 2:25 pmYes, if you ask me, it's fine this once- the end of the intro is read in the wrong order. i don't know, if that is ok. i believe, because you said all the phrases, we can let it be like it is.
but i have doubts: maybe stav or rapunzelina have to decide about that?
The important thing to fix is the bit rate and the ending silence.

Ok, I will be the bad guy. Jessie, please fix the end of the intro. As a listener, I am obssesed about consistancy. If you already fix the bit rate, I don't think it would be much of a problem. But if it is, just keep it as is, ok?

hi,
what a great start magz!
i cannot believe, that you were reading for the first time!
pl 01 - in a back room
checker und audacity check were ok!
in the intro, there are several repetitions, if you read it like it's wanted.
you continued to read the chapter-title after the chapter number instead of repeating it. i think, this condensed version is very elegant!
but at second 17, i hear the book title "the vanished hand"?
what do you think about it? am i right?
now, i am not a native english speaker and i maybe hear it wrong.
also, i dont do wordwise pl in english.. but regarding the title of the book, in combination with the condensed intro..
my thought was: i would correct it, if it was my reading.
and knowing, that this is an "easy to edit" part of the recording, that there are several reasons for continuity and consistent intros, i mention it in this pl and ask you to change that.
9:43 - i dont understand this part of the sentence: "i will take them out to make room... (for other things)"
i understand something like "whats heg en out em for other things".
since i understand all of your recording, i think it is a pity that i cannot understand this half of a sentence.
i do hope for your understanding, that i ask you to change these few seconds.
(do you need some help with this? please pm me, if so!)
what i think is ok, but want to mention (because that is in fact what standard pl is all about): at the beginning of your recording you have some moments of silence, especially when there is a paragraph in written text.
to my experience, some ("rule of thumb" 1 - 3) seconds of pausing are ok. (for someone listening, 3 seconds can be very long..)
i am sure, that was because of some sort of stage fright or to get into your momentum of reading.
that said, please keep an eye on them after your recording, when editing.
when you find a longer pause, maybe try to cut a second or two.
once again: thank you for your wonderful reading!
cheers,
schrm
