Beth speaks Japanese. (Elizabby) I don't recall whether she's been on this thread, but you might ask her.

Another pronunciation question:
Mr. Thibaudier "Th" is "T" in French, correct?
Tee - baud - ee - ye?
And how are people saying "Paris"? French or English pronunciation (or both )?
Thanks!

yes your pronunciation of Teebaudyeh would be correct As for Paris, I would say since it's an English text, I would say the names of cities in English too. If they were talking about London I'm sure they would not have said "Londres" either, but used the English name "London" even though in Molière's original it would have been Londres. (not that I think that Molière ever mentioned London....)

For my lines I decided that as the name was written "Mr. Thibaudier" I gave it an English pronunciation "Mister Thibaudier". If it had been "M. Thibaudier" I would have used a French pronunciation.

Remember that for my plays I do not care if pronunciation varies between readers, so long is it is consistent for each reader. I consider it just part of a reader character's accent.
