jus a reminder to Kehinde - you need to fix the tech bits for the file to be catalogued
The current file is in stereo , it needs to be mono
the bit rate needs to be 128kbps
and the bitrate needs to be constant needs to be constant - if you just fix you settings that should be OK in future

Anne
Ok! got it -- Um, that means both files will need to be modified and saved under these same settings and then re-uploaded correct?

Pl note: I hear constant background noise, please try noise reduction to see if it helps.

Your reading is wonderful. Pl wise everything else is ok.
Thanks! Will try it again and re-upload both files with correct settings. ;)

YEs that is correct it's the same as it's always been - if you wanted you could download checker https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker - a small program that checks the technical bits . It's pretty easy to use - just drag and drop your finished file. Your noise level might change after you've made the right file .

Hi Anne,

I've finished modifying the two files. But wasn't able to check the the files on the checker above as suggested. The specs are different and I wasn't sure if it was compatible or even if it would run since I have Window 8 OS and use Chrome. Has anyone ever tried this checker on a laptop with different specs from that indicated in the wiki?

I'm not sure - but it's not essential . upload a file and I'll see if the tech stuff is OK. Once you've got the settings right you shouldn't have to worry and you've managed before

Helen - none of these have the correct tech bits so it's not possible to PL them properly .

Kehinde
01 should have a constant bitrate - if you set that you may get the correct bit rate which is 128kbps and the sampling rate should be 44.1k/hz (44,100Hz)
02 is the same

03 just needs the bitrate 128kbps - and set the bitrate to constant bit rate (you have variable at the moment)

How about just fixing 01 and uploading ?

Helen please don't PL them till we have the correct files - Kehinde needs to concentrate on getting the settings right and you'll need to pl again anyhow

Kehinde - 01 settings are right , the volume is still a bit low but lets get 02 and 03 settings right now.
But your reading is very nice :D
