Persuasion by Jane Austen (1775 - 1817) Version 7.

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/persuasion-version-7-by-jane-austen/
"The story concerns Anne Elliot, a young Englishwoman of 27 years, whose family is moving to lower their expenses and get out of debt, at the same time as the wars come to an end, putting sailors on shore. They rent their home to an Admiral and his wife. The wife’s brother, Navy Captain Frederick Wentworth, had been engaged to Anne in 1806, and now they meet again, both single and unattached, after no contact in more than seven years. This sets the scene for many humorous encounters as well as a second, well-considered chance at love and marriage for Anne Elliot in her second "bloom". From Wikipedia ( Wikipedia)

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

There are several solo recordings of this book in the catalog. That said there is absolutely no reason why you can't record another (Choice of voice). I'd like to be the DPL as well as the MC unless you prefer someone else. Once you've read this post and responded, I'll set up the MW for you.

As this appears to be your first "solo" the following link discusses the responsibilities that come with being a BC (book coordinator).

Let me know if anything in the MW needs fixing. First though check to see if you can open the MW (click on "BC Admin" just below the MW). If it says you don't have permission read the information for new BC's at the following link. You may get in without the need to do anything extra.

Moving topic to "Going Solo" forum to keep the "Launch Pad" tidy.

Well I guess someone beat me to it. I'm not sure how often re-recordings are done in such close proximity but if I need to wait a few years I will. Definitely my favorite. I look forward to listening to it again.

"Choice of voice" is the rule at LV so duplicate recordings of books are welcome. I might suggest looking at the following page where readers are needed for group projects. Recording a book solo is a great time commitment.

1 PL OK!

As BC you have the honor of filling in the MW (click on the BC Admin button below the above table). Let me know if you need any help getting in. The notes column is for time (mm:ss) and copy and paste your url in the Listen column.
