sorry for the delay, Betty, but I finally got around to listening to your two sections and they are both perfectly PL ok. It was interesting to first hear a chapter from the very beginnings and then one from the latter days of her career. So much has happened in between. She really had an interesting life.

Thanks for the great narrations :9:

haha, Lilian is praised in spadefuls here. I can only pity the main actor she is stealing the show from :? A great reading yet again, John. :9: And all PL ok, of course. Thanks so much !

no don't worry, Tomas, I try to stay on top of things. This weekend was quite hectic, but I am working off my backlog now.

Intolerance was a very interesting chapter, as it's finally a movie I already knew something about. My sister once saw a screening of it in "old style" with the pianoman sitting next to the screen and playing the music like in olden times. She was very impressed by the movie and told me a lot about it.

This chapter is also PL ok. At least you guys make my job easy. :D

Thanks

Thank you again, John. :)

Sonia, my next two sections are ready for PL. You're getting quite the Gish fix these past few days. Soon you'll have to watch one of her movies.

thank you, John, these two chapters again were totally PL ok. I found it quite astonishing that Lilian is not in favour of the talking movies but prefers the silent ones. But I think it's what you are used to probably, that you always find the best.

Very interesting, in any case, and an enjoyable listen :9:

well it is all quite interesting to listen to. I got curious in the "closet scene" where apparently she showed this sheer terror and I found the snippet on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpQNpUCM7U4

Although for modern standards it looks a bit overdone and corny, I can understand that back then it would create an impact. Especially the close-ups on her face in some parts even gave me the shivers. And I noticed that the father probably was the inspiration for Jack Nicholson's final scene in Shining

Both sections PL ok. Thanks ! Great readings, yet again.

that's the beauty of living in different time zones

Thank you John, both chapters perfectly PL ok again. This time I got curious about the movie The Wind that was mentioned. I checked it up on wikipedia. Sounds indeed haunting.

Great job again, John ! Thanks !
