Early Poems of Hart Crane by Hart Crane (1899 - 1932).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-early-poems-of-hart-crane-by-hart-crane/

A collection of poems of the American modernist poet Hart Crane published before 1923.

These poems originally appeared in a variety of small literary magazines (The Pagan, The Double Dealer, Bruno’s Weekly, Bruno’s Bohemia, Gargoyle, The Little Review, The Modernist, Dial, The Measure, and The Modern School). ( Winston Tharp)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/hartcrane_publicdomain
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): wordperfect

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

This will be a short collection of poems which should run an hour or so, I'd guess. I'd like to use the shorter poetry intro and outro, and I'm requesting word perfect PL. I don't have a DPL.

Thanks, Larry. Glad we're finally getting a chance to work together! Now, all we need is an MC. :D

Thanks, Lynne. We’ve got a full crew—the train is ready to roll! I’m planning to use the poetry intros and outros as used in the short poetry collection. Don’t know if you want to change the “directions” to correspond. I’m OK either way. :D

That's fine, but please use the full intro for the first one. The directions are mainly for your benefit (and your DPL), but you can edit them if you wish (use the pencil icon at the top of the first post to get to edit mode).

4 and 6 are PL OK.

The second line of Carmen De Boheme starts, "On smokey tongues" I hear, "Of smokey tongues"

Small difference, but changes the nuance, and you did ask for "word perfect."

Good catch, Larry. Yes, words are more than just pretty sounds, and I try to accurately articulate them, even if I don't always understand the author's intent. :) Corrected section 5 is up, as are sections 7, 8, & 9.

Glad you're enjoying them, Larry. Sections 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 are up. Section 19 is my favorite--it's the one that got me interested in doing this collection.
