Hi TriciaG,

I've just re-read your email, and I think I can help you, rather than the reverse, at least with one feature of Audacity.

In the current version of Audacity (2.1.3) the Leveller is to be found in the depths of the Effect menu: Effect - Distortion - Distortion type - Leveller.

I had to do some googing to find this; I think the Librivox guidance on this needs updating.

Section 5, I Puritani, has been uploaded to the following location:

Length of the MP3 is 11:14. This is a first effort, so any advice or direction is appreciated.

Here is Section 35 - Rigoletto. I like this book! I understand this opera now more than when I went to see my sister sing in it! (She played Gilda, and I was very sad to see her stabbed to death!)

Wonderful job!

Only one PL note:
0:20 missing part of the section title.
Bellini – I Puritani

Only general comment, is to be careful of your ending silence. There is a little blip in this one. It's not bad but something to be on the watch for especially in consideration of listeners using headphones.

I can't resist - I'd like to claim section 25, Tales of Hoffmann. My sister died in that one too as Antonia!

Section 25: Tales of Hoffmann!

Interestingly, this is a different interpretation of the opera from the one we staged. Offenbach didn't actually finish it, so the ending of the opera is rather in doubt - but in our version it was presented as a struggle between love and poetry. After being unsuccessful in love, in our version Hoffmann decides for forswear love and from now on be a poet (and cue the final drinking song...)

Tom and Beth,
Thank you for your work. I'll try to get PL note for you today but it may be tomorrow.

Beth,
Really interesting there are different versions. Odd. I would have thought they would have agreed with a single version.

Hi again :)

May i claim Section 1 AUBER – Fra Diavolo please,

I see that it doesn't specify anything but just to double check is there anything i'm required to say at the beginning of the book before

"Section [number] of Stories From The Operas, by Gladys Davidson. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
