The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum (1856 - 1919).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project: https://librivox.org/the-life-and-adventures-of-santa-claus-version-3-by-l-frank-baum/
L. Frank Baum takes us through the adventures of Santa Claus beginning with his adoption as an infant by Necile the nymph. As a youth, Claus discovers fellow humans on earth and returns to their world where he decides his duty is to make children happy through the gift of toys. Claus has to fight Awgwa’s and eventually gets help from Flossie and Glossie, the first reindeers. Through his tireless work, Claus is declared a Saint and is bestowed with immortality. His work lives on today with the help of good parents around the world. (Linette Geisel)
    1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1 month of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after one month, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the one month deadline.
    2. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/520
Please read only from the gooledocs. If you have trouble with the color coding just ask and I will change it for you. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1R7r-WGLzLvYBApC636y50P-o62eFTzj9
    5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.
All roles are gender neutral. I have listed them based on gender but please feel free to claim any of interest.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

*If the character you are interested in is grouped with characters you don't want just let me know. I'm willing to change the groupings. :D

Roles: All roles are gender neutral. I have listed them based on gender but please feel free to claim any of interest. Roles have been combined. If there is a character you are interested in but you don't want to read another character it is combined with then let me know and I'll see what I can do to break it out for you.

GilmoreDon wrote: January 16th, 2018, 3:38 pm I have a suggestion for a dramatic reading. How about "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" by L. Frank Baum? I heard a Librivox reading of it a while back and fell in love with it.
This is cute. I'm working on scripts now. Tons of little characters I'm looking to combine. It's VERY narrator intensive but I agree, it will be a fun DR.
 Let me know when it's ready to go. I'd love to do Ak.
Don, please tag in to confirm.

If you need a DPL (for both the parts and the final edit) I'd be interested.
