Commentary on the Gospel of John, Book 6 by Cyril of Alexandria (c. 376 - 444). Translated by Rev. Philip Edward Pusey ( - 1880) and others

This project is complete! All audio files are available on our catalog page:
https://librivox.org/commentary-on-the-gospel-of-john-book-6-by-cyril-of-alexandria/

Book 6 of Commentary on St John's Gospel covers John 8:44 - 10:17. ( The Reader)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.tertullian.org/fathers/cyril_on_john_06_book6.htm
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'm sorry, I haven't seen this 'til this evening. I should get it listened to tomorrow. Things seem to go in undulations of drought and down pour. There are two new sections in from each of two other projects I'm proofing after a long stretch of nothing, and an abandoned project, The Travels of Ibn Batuta, that I was dpling has been resurrected by a new reader.

Section 1 is PL OK. You're not alone being lost for the moment in the new design. I am, too, but suppose I'll get used to it.

Section 4 is PL OK.

Monaxi and Laurie, if you have time for some listening and haven't heard them, I highly recommend these that I've just listened to during a lull in submissions from the projects I'm on.

"Jessica's First Prayer" and "Jessica's Mother" https://librivox.org/jessicas-first-prayer-by-hesba-stretton/

"Little Meg's Children" https://librivox.org/little-megs-children-by-hesba-stretton/

I'm dpling the recording in progress of "Fern's Hollow" by the same author and have become fascinated with her. One of her spiritual children's classics sold, I think it was, ten times more copies than "Alice In Wonderland" in its day.

Thank you, Pattymarie, for the recommendations! I enjoy being a LV listener, too, and had not heard of that author.

Peace be with you,
Sister
