In addition, at 4:56, I loved your added translation of the Latin phrase at the end of the chapter - “Nemo fere saltat sobrius, nisi forte insanit.” - in which you added on your own: “ which in Latin means, no one dances sober unless he is insane” ..... however, this is not part of the book and I am not sure if we can use your ad-lib here .... I will leave that up to Larry to decide .... Larry??

Yes, quite right, Nemo. We follow a fairly strict, "nothing added, nothing omitted" standard for LibriVox, so anything that is not actually in the text needs to be edited out.

There are some situations when something can be left out, but this kind of addition is beyond what we can allow.

Here are two sections. The other one needs some touch up. I hope I can get it in tomorrow.

Thanks Larry!

Section 15 is PL OK ... who knew there were water nymphs in heaven!

Section 17 has one note: At 0:36, “I often talk to myself,” is repeated and needs to be cut out.

Thanks,

Nemo

Thanks Philip!

In the MW and PL OK! ..... that was a bit of a tongue twister ... I'm not sure I could have said "Finchsifter" 28 times like you did without messing it up!

I finally finished Section 31 - Say It With Asterisks! I'm sorry it took so long. Between the holidays, sickness and a broken computer, luck wasn't with me. :P

Here's the file: https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_31_herford_128kb.mp3

And duration: 22:55

Thanks so much for the PL on such a massive chapter (comparatively)!

Sounds as if you've had a lot going on! I can sure identify with that. :) So, I'm very grateful for your effort with this very long section. I hope you enjoyed it.

Could you check that spot on Section 17, because I don't hear a repeat. . . . .

I'd love to take chapter 22!
I know it has been just one month, but since this project is fully claimed, I'm trying to get all the pieces in to complete it. Is there any chance you can get this short section recorded for us soon? Please let me know.

Yes Larry, I still hear the repeat at time noted. To be more clear, it is a repeat of the first line that occurs shorty before it ..... it occurs between the 1st and 2nd paragraphs as follows:

I often talk to myself,” says Mr. G. K. Chesterton, speaking in defense of the stage soliloquy. “If a man does not talk to himself it is because he is not worth talking to.”

(Repeat = I often talk to myself)

The deduction is obvious, but it is based upon false premises. If Mr. Chesterton is worth talking to, it is certainly not because he talks to himself. It is impossible to imagine a more foolish waste of energy than that expended in talking to one’s self. The man who talks to himself is twice damned (as a fool). First, for wasting speech on an auditor who knows in advance every[75] word he will utter. Second, for listening to a speaker whose every word he can foretell before it is uttered.

Oh, so sorry to hear about the Latin translation part! I forgot to ask about it before putting it in the recording, and hoped it'll be OK. Probably most listeners will not know what this means, and without proper transcription it might be difficult to know what to type in Google (I don't speak Latin of course, so I'm not sure if my pronunciation is correct). In any case, rules are rules... I exported all of them again - this time with 5 seconds of silence at the end of each, and without the English translation in chapter 20. The list is as follows:

https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_08_herford_128kb.mp3 - 4:47
https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_09_herford_128kb.mp3 - 3:12
https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_18_herford_128kb.mp3 - 5:23
https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_20_herford_128kb.mp3 - 5:02
https://librivox.org/uploads/kilteddragon/neitherherenorthere_28_herford_128kb.mp3 - 3:08

I hope this time all is well.
