BTW, I heard a rumor that Myrrh retired........any truth to that?
(See you on the other side of the update and Happy Thanksgiving!)

Hello Phil and Team,
I'm submitting the 2nd version of Book 7, sorry it's taken a little while. After getting your previous notes, I realised that I had unexpectedly reset my settings in audacity and I had recorded sound through my monitor's microphone. Rookie mistake!
The noise from the previous recording could not be cleaned up so I have re-recorded Book 7 again Hopefully the sound should be clear but it will require someone to PL it again.

Please let me know if there are any other sections to fix and I'll get on them ASAP. Have a happy Thanks Giving weekend.

Congratulations on your first Librivox recording! Section 8 has a few issues, but they are all fairly easy to fix--(there is seldom any need to re-record a section, and no need at all here).
The volume of your recording is a little low. The checker put it at 85.6 db. The target is 89 db +/-3db. If you don't have the checker, you can download it here....http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker
The remainder of these items are all cut and paste work......
You should leave about 5 seconds of silence at the end of the recording. There is a little over one second at the end here.
At 5:43 I heard "the same of each species": I expected "the nature of each species"
At 19:30 and 19:37 the phrase "you say" occurs: I did not expect to hear it
At 20:30 the phrase "by it" is omitted.
If you have questions about any of this, don't hesitate to ask. Phil or I will walk you through this..
I enjoyed your reading and look forward to hearing you again soon.
Many thanks,
Philip
I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. I will fix these issues and have it back to you before the week is over.
Also, I actually noticed that my volume was a little low. I believe it has something to do with my mic. I actually recorded it the highest possible volume on Audacity. Is there another way to boost the volume?

Phil will have good suggestions on how to do this and there is information on the Librivox Wiki as well....but this is what I do before I submit a reading for proof listening. I run it through the Checker available for download at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker to see how loud my recording is. Once I know that, I go back, with the recording open in Audacity, I select the entire file then use the Amplify effect (the target I aim for is 89 db--sort of mid range). If I'm too loud, I decrease the amplification, if too soft, I increase it. Then I export it and upload it.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I'm just checking in to see if any changes are necessary for book 7?
I will be quite busy on the days running up to New Years.
If there are any changes I should be able to get a new version done this week.
Thanks
Yone

Book IX has been put back into the pool for anyone to claim. This is the last chapter that needs to be recorded
