hi Hollis yay, you recorded your first section, congrats for that.

As far as the reading itself is concerned, well done ! Read at a nice pace and clearly understandable. All good there. Intro and Outro are also as requested and no errors in the text. Nothing to change there then.

In the beginning your noise level was much higher than at the end. I wonder if you forgot to highlight the initial parts when you ran the noise-cleaning, so that only the end part would be cleaned. Well, it is ok for this section now, nothing too disturbing, so you don't need to clean a second time, but maybe something to consider for your next recordings.

However there is one technical bit you need to correct. Your bitrate has been changed back to variable 123 kbps again. Remember in your one-minute-test, how to change the bitrate to 128 kbps constant while exporting to mp3 ? Normally once you changed these settings in Audacity, they should have been saved automatically, so I don't understand why they reverted back in your case. Unless you changed them again manually. Can you check please, correct this and reupload the file ?

Also: the end silence should be a standard 5 seconds, you barely left 3 seconds. Could you insert 2 more, please ?

Well, since you reupload anyway, you could also rename the file name. It needs to include a 0 in your section number, because we have more than 100 sections here. So it should read _027_

Oh and please always include the file length, when you post a file, so all this can be input in the Magic Window easily.

thank you for reuploading. Now indeed it's the correct 128 constant bitrate.

For some reason you had 8 seconds of silence at the end now But ! Never mind, I cut them (for once ) and reuploaded the file myself, since there was nothing else to change. No need to re-do anything with this section. I'll mark it PL ok.

I also noticed (sorry, I didn't notice the first time round ), that you uploaded to the "test" folder. This one is only for one-minute-tests. Each real project has an MC, to whose folder you have to upload all the files. For this project I am the MC, so it would be my folder. This should have been the correct file name: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worl ... _128kb.mp3 . "kitty" instead of "tests" and notice also the "kb" at the end, while you had "kps".

The best thing to get the filename correct, is simply copy/pasting the sample name from the first post and only changing the ### with the correct section number. That's how I do it all the time In the first post, you also see the MC for each project you are in.

But as I said, nothing to re-do here now Congrats on your first PL ok section. Many more to come, hopefully.

thank you Emma, that was quick Nicely read and I didn't find any textual errors. Nothing to change there, but there are two technical settings that need correction:

> the volume is below our accepted standard of 86-92 dB. Yours is only 84.7 dB. Could you please amplify with 4 to get close to the desired average ?

> the bitrate is wrong with 192 kbps, we need 128 kbps. Somehow your settings must have been manually changed in Audacity, otherwise it would have been saved, and I remember your other files were correct.
