Just one thing: in future, please follow the file naming format in the first post... we do need to have them standardized. Don't worry this time -- I can change it, but if there are edits, please use the correct file name.

May I have section 14?
May I have section 14?

Hi Lynne-
I found a bit in my section that I am uncertain how to handle. In several spots, "Gy--y" appears. I am not sure what that is. It may be a name, but I think it is some sort of exclamation, perhaps an off color one with several letters dropped to be less offensive to sensitive eyes. I looked a bit on the internet, but didn't find anything useful. Putting it into a Russian pronunciation program just gave a pronunciation for the individual letters (I think ). I guess I'm leaning towards doing that unless someone can point me in a more proper direction. You know any Russian speakers who may be able to interpret this?

I'll take a look at the text and will let you know shortly. Stand by...

to PLers: do correct my pronunciation please
It's an imitation of a chuckle. I am not sure how to write it in letters so you'd pronounce it well, and I lack the tools to record it now (at work). The consonant is not as hard as "G", so it's like 'Gh', and the vowel is like 'ee', but harder. A petite Japanese woman would make a 'hee-hee' sound. Imagine its analog coming from "the stoutest of the sportsmen"...

Ah, I was hoping you'd jump in Tovarisch. That maybe what I am hearing on this web site -
https://www.howtopronounce.com/russian/gy-y/
I will give it a try. I'm unlikely to get it correct, but at least I know what I'm trying to say.
Благодарю вас!

Thanks to Tovarisch for his help. Not sure I was able to chuckle in Russian though.
I am going to be out of commission from next Sunday on and unable to record for a while. It would be great to get a PL fairly quickly so I can make any necessary corrections before then.
