The World's Best Poetry, Volume 6: Fancy and Sentiment (Part 2) by Various ( - ).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-worlds-best-poetry-volume-6-part-2-by-various/
The sixth of ten volumes of poetry edited by Canadian poet laureate Bliss Carman (1861-1929). This collection, the second of two parts, includes a range of notable poems that deal with our own sensibilities and human qualities, covering subjects such as memory; thoughts and dreams; the figure of the poet; books; music; the arts; work and labor; contentment; rest; and sleep. ( Tomas Peter)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/wbppoemsoffancy0bliss
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: special --- please ensure that all intros/outros are consistent with the templates below, and that all files have end silences that do not exceed 5 seconds.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Sonia, of course, is our MC, and Anthony will return as DPL. We also welcome back Craig, Jason and Leanne from our previous volumes!

Sonia has already sent out a PM, but since it doesn't hurt to repeat the important details:

• There are 95 solo poems, so everyone will get 19 apiece.

• There are 17 DRs with 50 roles, so we all get 10 roles apiece. Easy as pie.

Claiming for interested parties has already been completed behind the scenes; Sonia will post all assignments later tomorrow, once the MW is up and populated. For DRs, Google Docs will appear when the MW is set up, and there'll be a sign-up document as always for claims. I expect that process to begin sometime tomorrow, as well (probably later on).

That's all for now! :D

LOL I think that can be arranged

Also as a special info for Jason. We know he loves Shakespeare's works, but unfortunately, this time there were only two poems and those two have been on Tomas' and Leanne's wishlists. But there is a plum Shakespeare role in the DR, so we figured, Jason can have that one, to make up for it. I hope all are ok with that. :)

Yikes I just saw that I gave Craig "Mignon's song by Goethe". I didn't claim it because somehow I thought Leanne would jump on it, but she didn't and I forgot about it.

But I think it's so totally a woman's perspective, it should be read by a woman. So I'll take this poem myself and swap it with another of the same length, and give Craig "To All in Haven by Philip Bourke Marston (1850–1887)" instead. Sorry, I didn't notice immediately.

I'll change the lists, so Tomas isn't confused.

Alright everyone, after a painstaking afternoon, I have finally finished the MW. :D That means we can now begin the claiming process for DRs, using this sign-up sheet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J0m5Lku5L_oXWUY1UtrBE5kgcT0WgkXky7bM-9Rn1UI/edit?usp=sharing

Remember: everyone gets 10 roles, and there are 3 DRs that are compulsory for everyone.

all right, I seem to be the first in, so I signed myself up for my share. 10 roles was really not much to choose.

Waiting for Leanne and Tomas to make their choices, and then by this evening, I guess we are all fully signed up.
