"Samuel Langhorne Clemens", "Mark Twain At Home", "Youth of Mark Twain" & "Mark Twain Gossip"
Published in the June 16, 1888 edition of "Literature - An Illustrated Weekly Magazine" (Vol. 1, No. 17) these four, early magazine articles about Mark Twain fill in and analyze areas of Twain's persona for the first time. "Mark Twain At Home" was originally published in the London, England "World". ( John Greenman)
Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): wordperfect
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated). Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Can we shorten the title for this project to "Some Articles about Mark Twain" and authors to "by Various" ?
Your summary states 3 articles, but you have 4 sections in the MW ??

Hi David,
Thanks so much!!!
I've made some corrections, incorporating your suggestion. I can't find the summary which states on;ly 3 articles....but will look again.
I'll put out a request for a proof listener.
Thanks again!!
Section 1 is very nicely read. I have a few notes:
at 0:57 I heard "leading role": I expected "leading place"
at 3:18 I heard "a local editor": I expected local editor"
at 5:57 I heard "a trump abroad": I expected "a tramp abroad"
Great job! (I'm not yet able to update the MW--but I did want to get this section completed).

Thanks Philip!!
Excellent !!!
I've sent in the corrected file
You'll note, from time to time, that I'll make an editorial change (like changing "always" to "already" in the last correction)
And I have NO IDEA where that "Trump" came from!!!! a mind-fart, no doubt!
