I've recorded up to Chapter 30 but I'm going to take a break from recording for awhile. Real world issues, you know how it goes. 8-)
Going by her wiki, Glaspell has a sort of cult following in the women's studies crowd; wondering if there's a way to reach out to them to help record this and other obscure-but-worthy women writers of the pre-1923 era.

In the late 1970s feminist critics began to reevaluate Glaspell's career,[24] and interest in her work has grown steadily ever since.[25] Today, Glaspell scholarship is a "burgeoning" field,[26] with several book-length biographies and analyses of her writing being published by university presses in recent years. After a century of being out of print, a large portion of her work has recently seen republication.

Chapter 27: At 19:03, the following text is missing "was not impressing them any more than"

Chapter 28: at 6:45, "be horrid" is repeated. That's so small I might not normally mention it, but your recordings are so clear of mistakes that I think you spend a lot of time in careful editing and probably want to know about it.

Chapter 27 still has some words missing. It's an awkward phrase that's causing trouble: "was not impressing them any more than—not any more than". Previously, the section before the dash was missing, and now the section after the dash is missing.

Chapters 28, 29, and 30 all sound good, and I've marked them PL OK.

Ok... I thought about this for a while now. There is a new reader who recorded a few chapters here. There are pl notes. The chapters were recorded, but not corrected, over a year ago. AHowever the person worked hard. My policy on such matters is to mark them pl ok. However, if Arlene has objections I am willing to reconsider. The point is that the person worked hard and the olternative would be to open up the chapters, so that the hard work would not be rewarded or egknowledged, and I have a big problem with this. What do you think?

If you're asking me, Stav, depends on the errors. If words are left out, that would be a problem. If there's background noise, or 'too many words', that could be fixed (hopefully).

OK, I've downloaded her files; nice voice but I can hear her stumbles and missing info. I've also copied the PL. Let me see if I can edit them, if you don't mind.

I just recorded my set of chapters (whew, emotional!, esp Chapter 36 -- like a scene from Titanic) and will upload after editing.

I don't think we should OK the chapters as they are--but only because of the kind of things that are missing. The reading itself is certainly acceptable, and normal for a new reader. She has a lovely voice. The things that need to be fixed are the headers and trailers that indicate which book and chapter we are reading. I think those sections (just the header and trailer) could be re-recorded by someone else and patched in.

That's fine by me if you wish to edet them or record which book chapter and so on, I would be glad. It would be rather problematic without them.

Stav, do you want a female volunteer to record that little bit of information on Grace's files, or do you want me to do it?

Hi Matt,
thanks for 17 and 31. No, librivox policy is to be gender nutural almost always, and this should be no exception. I would be glad and honored if you record that bit of information. Amy, can you add Matt to Grace's chapters so that people would see there are two readers when they are catalogued? It can be done. It is done in dramatic works. Have fun,
Stav.
