Hi Kathleen,
I have 31 left to PL, but I listened to 4, 29, and 30.
4 and 30 are PL OK.
There are PL notes for 29. For the word "alyssum" a-liss'-um, I hear asylum.
Here are the instances:
9:57 “Sweet Alyssum is another of the essential flowers for the border…”
10:10 “The great novelty of last year was the new double variegated Sweet Alyssum…”
Please update the file when you have a chance.
Thanks!
Amy

Hi Kathleen,
Isn't amazing that some of these bulbs cost the same today. That was expensive!
PL Notes for Section 31
Alyssum has struck again.
At 8:50 : Portulaca, Pansy, Ageratum, Mignonnette, Nemophila, Sweet Alyssum, are all suitable for this purpose,..
Please update it and re-upload.
Thanks!
Amy

Amy,
Can I also read Section 18: Ornamental Foliage Plants?

Also I need a clarification regarding the last line of Section 19: A Talk about Primroses.
The last line talks about the picture in the book and reads as "We give an illustration of this Primula, kindly furnished by Ellis Bros., who are of the first to offer it in this country."

Can it be skipped, since it is about the picture?

Thanks,
Nalini

Hi Nalini,
Yes, the photo description can be skipped.
I will sign you up for Section 18.
Thanks!
Amy

Begonias: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/talksaboutflowers_12_wellcome_128kb.mp3 (7:49)
Amaryllis: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/talksaboutflowers_27_wellcome_128kb.mp3 (3:48)

In the section on amaryllis, at about 2:31, I had this phrase: "Equestre fl. pl." Not knowing the abbreviations, I said "eff ell pee ell", just to finish up the recording. But if you know what this should have been or have other suggestions, I'm open to hearing them.

Hi Devorah,
It seems that fl pl. represents that it is double flowers. I think how your read it is right.
Thank you for these. I will PL soon.
Cheers,
Amy :)
