thank you for this feat of saying Roebuck [aside] so often  I comiserate you, as I know it gets often repetitive.

You almost had a clear run-through, but you missed one line (sorry)

> at about 9:36: please insert missing line p. 66 bottom: "They compliment for the door"

all the rest is perfect :) only careful with the volume, it's a bit below our bottom limit (only 84.3 dB)

I can't believe I missed that! Well, actually I can believe it since I did. I was probably getting a little cross-eyed at that point.

Line added and file uploaded again.

Regarding the volume level, the checker program and the replay/gain effect are fooled by all those 4 and 5 second gaps so the 84.3 db measurement is not accurate. If you shorten the gaps to normal conversation timing the file is about a third as long and the computed loudness about 3.5 db higher.

I went ahead and bumped the volume level up a little anyway to match what everyone else is doing, but my files have a higher percentage of gaptime than others so Todd may find my stuff a little louder than the rest.

I usually bump the stage directions down a dB or two during final edit so as not to overwhelm conversations with directions. But I have to do it by ear. Some voices are softer or louder than others regardless of what replay gain may say. And as you note, the apparent volume changes as the gaps are removed or filled.

Thanks, Todd

wow this was really a big file  nicely narrated though, I love both the dedication and prologue very much. I found it funny that in the prologue you have to interrupt yourself with the stage directions LOL

> I have one comment on the stage directions. Usually the narrator also reads the "read by" part from the dram.pers. But before you do anything, let's first ask Todd: is it necessary, that he speaks a "read by" for each character ? I suppose most of our readers will have spoken the entire role anyway, and the "read by" as well - so wouldn't we inflict unnecessary work here ?

> I only have one PL note for the rest of the play:

> at 7:22 - should be [Roebuck], sullenly - the directions for the moods sometimes are put at the end of the line, which is a bit confusing, but here it's clear that the "sullenly" should get tucked immediately after the name,I think

The rest, perfect :) Thanks

I am sure that if one of our readers has forgotten "read by", I can steal it from someone else during editing. So no need to add that.

Thanks, Todd

I just want to clarify here that, as Fencing-Master, there is no requirement to handle stolen goods.
Sure, I agree that Rigadoon is one intimidating individual. But c'mon, who among the Librivox talent will butch up and confront him?
Cheers,
Chris
I will take up the gauntlet sir! May I please be assigned:

Nimblewrist, a Fencing-Master, Act 2

Ready for PL:

The file reads a little "hot" in the Checker, but I think that's just from all the "thrusting and parrying" sounds ;-)

hehe excellently parried, Kurt. You keep Rigadoon on his toes (in his ballet shoes, probably - the thought ! )

you have the needed stamina and panache to pull this role till the end. I had to smirk when he tells about how he kills his own soldiers in duels LOL they don't need the enemy to reduce their army.

only one thing to correct, right at the beginning:

> for the voice credit, could you give us your entire character title please: Nimblewrist, a Fencing-Master, read by Kurt

the rest: perfect

thanks for joining :9:
