Greetings,

I am a new volunteer. I've been using the service for years and wanted to give something back. I have extensive experience in audio engineering and podcast production, thus I figured I am well suited to read or proof. I look forward to working with everyone and delivering a product to be enjoyed by the masses.

Welcome. It is great that you have experience - please take the one-minute test to let us make sure your setup matches our requirement.

Then take a look in the Reader Wanted forums to find things to read - books, plays, short stories and poems. Or if there is a ~ at the beginning of the project title, to proof. You can also check the Listeners and Editors wanted.

Enjoy, Todd

Hi and welcome.
The best starting point is submitting a one minute test and the team there will guide you on getting your setup right. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test It will probably be a breeze for you because of your podcast experience :D

When you start, it is best to read a chapter or two of established projects, but once you are familiar with the site and the process, you can branch out to any Public Domain text that interests you.
Poetry is also a popular launch point (see the Short Works forum, dropdown menu at the bottom of the page).
