It's nice to have another perspective so we have a variety of cover styles. If you ever want to look at them as a collection https://archive.org/details/librivoxaudio?sort=-publicdate is handy . Make sure you have the image view not the list and you can change the order of the sort so different ones appear first and the number in the row is controlled on PCs by control + or - - no idea how on your Mac :D .
Welcome aboard.

Thank You! It's great to see all the different covers together in one place, and such a beautiful mix of styles, so many creative people here. All the covers make for good reference too. Yea, my mac plays differently (its a rebel), I'll have to experiment with hotkeys. Meantime, I better get started on my second cover, I see the naked recording among the artful covers - don't want it to catch a cold  ! Thank you again, Anne.

My first contribution, I hope I got the formats right.
Many thanks,
KC
wow the cover looks great  quite an interesting esthetic point of view.

I only wanted to point out that there is a small typo in the script... you forgot a 'g' in the Latin between brackets "virginitate" - you only have "virinitate"

Do you think it is too difficult to correct this still at this point ? (sorry I'm not a graphic artist, so for me these things are difficult)

Hi Sonia,
First, my many thanks for your kind words. Upon seeing the book's title and nothing more, I formed an instant idea of how I thought the cover should look, THEN I read the synopsis  - no, the book didn't quite adhere to my vision of the cover, but I stubbornly stuck to the initial idea anyway. In the end I'm quite pleased with how it came out.
Second, oops  very sorry about that :( . - No, correcting it should be no problem. How should I handle the uploading of a new set of files?

Just reupoad with same name and I'll just chenge the files (post when you do)
I miss spell things often , I tend to block the sshapes including text up then fiddle and I often am so busy deciding re design I never actually read it
It wasn't an easy cover - I'm never really keen on "portraits" made by artists 1000 plus years after the subject lived and nuns and things would not be historical and pretty flowers don't seem very logical either . Not that there would be anything wrong with irrelevance , it's just I personally like mine to be :D. And not that it's always possible with much non fiction

I agree Anne. In any bookstore (or library) history section (especially political history) you'll see the same tired historical portrait used on dozens of different book covers. I guess that's why I'm not too keen on historical portrait covers either. "Pretty flowers," now that would make for an interesting Napoleon Bonaparte cover  - Yea, it can definitely be a challenge to find relevant (yet fresh) visuals. As for spelling, I'm terribly dyslexic, I can actively look for typos in a TWO WORD line (like 'On Virginity') and never catch it - no matter how blaring it is. I rely heavily on spell check, but the graphic program is kinda lacking there, so typos often fly under my radar. I will pull the type directly from the info page from now on
On that topic, I uploaded the fixed file:
https://librivox.org/uploads/covers/OnVirginity_1710.zip
Info page here:
https://librivox.org/on-virginity-de-virginitate-by-saint-ambrose/
I also uploaded the PIG BROTHER art:
https://librivox.org/uploads/covers/PigBrother_1710.zip
info Page:
https://librivox.org/the-pig-brother-and-other-fables-and-stories-by-laura-e-richards/
I kinda went full bore on the 'Pig Brother' art (it ended up being a procrastination piece - but I can't dodge the other project any longer, so it's back to work for me. Thanks again!
