And I see two more are up.
- had to laugh, when you read "both sides of the ocean" my brain noticed it wasn't "both sides of the pond"
- I notice you pronounced Faribault correctly.... for some reason.
- I remember when Kennedy was elected first Roman Catholic President of the US. (I lived history!)
Besides the normal prejudices there was also raised the question of whether his allegiance would be to the Vatican or the country. I noticed that was mentioned in that last chapter regarding the Vatican needing to reduce it's power over Americans in the late 1800s.

One more. This one I recorded while waiting for Kevin to come home. I was a paragraph or so from the end when he rang the doorbell (as he normally does to let me know he's there). So if you hear a slight change in vocal tone, it's because I had to stop recording, and I finished it when he was in the shower.

- yeah, I kind of noticed that the other couple chapters weren't exciting to the reader.
- this was one of the most troublesome sections I recall PL'ing. Listen to a few words... see a fruit fly, turn on vacuum and get it.... back up file to where I last heard...... see a fruit fly, turn on vacuum and get it.... back up file to where I last heard...... see a fruit fly, turn on vacuum and get it.... back up file to where I last heard...... see a fruit fly, turn on vacuum and get it.... back up file to where I last heard...
Once I turned off LV first and then ff was gone when I came back.
If I waited a little before turning it back on no ff would come. Hmmm.
(yes I copy/pasted that repetition )

Two more sections up. I've got the 3rd recorded and am editing it, but it's the longest one in the project, and I've got to start supper. (Lasagna takes a lot of time to make.)
EDIT: 169 is also up. So it's NOT the longest one in the project. It was before I started editing.

Four more chapters up.
He doesn't pull many punches when talking about Mormonism.
I wondered why he didn't talk about the Jehovah's Witnesses. It started around 1870 (20 years before this was written), but apparently wasn't really on the radar until the 1900s.

Section 174 is uploading now.
That pamphlet by Dr. Rush is on Archive.org. I am so interested in the issue of temperance that I might just record it for the Non-Fiction Collection.

A few more.
At the end of the chapter on Sunday schools, it talks about the variety of works that have been added to the Sunday school library. It seems to me like I heard somewhere that Pansy's books were "Sunday school fiction" or something of the sort. I wonder if that's what it meant. (On her Wikipedia page, it says, "She wrote approximately 75 Sunday school books, and a number of volumes of fiction for older readers.")

Section 177.... Yayyyy, you left something for me to do.
missed edit -- 4:21 ..was in the elementary English br...
repeated at 4:23
Cool stuff thinking of Pansy being in this time frame.

Last 4 sections up!
The Christian Literature one gives a shout-out to Pansy and to the Chautauqua movement.
The last two chapters are a bit boring. Lots of names of people and what they contributed to Christianity.
