Praise received for cynm1788 (Cynthia Moyer) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Dear Cynthia Moyer,

Thank you for the excellent narration of C.G. Jung's "Seven Sermons to the Dead" - it's a great work and your voice not only made it available to many, but infused it with a tone of mystery and deep wisdom - a well-fitting combination in my humble opinion.

Should you decide to reply, my e-mail should be made available to you by LibriVox admins.

Thank You and Best Regards,
Vic

Listening to Wind In the Willows right now.
Lovely reading voice, and a conversational, sharing style.

Praise received for gloriana (Elizabeth Klett) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

I enjoyed your reading of Emma to the nth degree. How you managed to keep those individual characters’ voices consistent was a wonder and a joy. My husband wondered why I was laughing over cooking dinner or turning compost and it was inevitably either Mrs. Eaton going on and on about the barouche landau or good Miss Bates dithering away. You made Austen’s remarkable people and Emma’s unfolding character come alive. I can’t thank you enough for your read!

Rose
and...
Thank you for your excellent reading of 'Persuasion'. We've just finished listening to it and have been transported into a different era by your perfect timing and delivery. Thank you once again for your efforts.

Owen and Anthea.

Praise received for neustar (Bob Neufeld) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed listening to you reading the Grimm’s Fairy Tales and The Cloak by Gogol. I was sad when the fairy tales were over, as I was listening to them one or two at a time before falling asleep and they became part of a nightly ritual for over a month. I listened to the Gogol story after that just because I was used to falling asleep to your voice!

You are very talented, and I appreciate you sharing your voice with the world.

Praise received for MaryAnnSpiegel (MaryAnn) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Dear Mary Ann,

I just finished listening to your reading of North and South version 3. I’ve also been listening to your reading of the Hymns and to your readings of Sturgeon. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your wonderful gift. I suffered a severe hearing loss from meningitis over 10 years ago and haven’t been able to enjoy many auditory things in movies, music, etc. However, your reading is so clear and articulate, I can usually hear it all very well with ear buds, so I’m listening to you as I crochet gifts for my loved ones. I’m listening to The Amazing Interlude right now, also. I have read North and South before, but your reading brought out so much beauty that I didn’t pick up on when I read it myself. I have been so blessed with your readings of Sturgeon and the Hymns; the Hymns are very edifying, and I had never heard most of them. Thank you, again, for blessing me with your wonderful gift!

God bless you,
Joyce

Hello Helen,

My name is Stephana. I just wanted to thank you for your extra effort in the reading of E. Nesbit, The story of the Amulet. I appreciate you taking the time to record and match the children singing together. It was such a delight. It made the book and your reading that much more enjoyable. I know that takes time and I just wanted to let you know that it is much appreciated.

Thank You!

Praise received for thistlechick (Betsie Bush) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Hello!
I want to express my thanks to Betsie Bush for her superb reading of Deephaven, by Sarah Orne Jewett -- https://librivox.org/deephaven-by-sarah-orne-jewett/

I know that I have heard and appreciated Betsie's reading on collaborative recordings in the past, but I think this is the first of her solo work that I have heard. Sarah Orne Jewett is one of my favourite authors, and Betsie's talent has really brought the characters to life and made the book so enjoyable for me. Thank you, Betsie! I will be looking for more of your solo readings!

Best wishes,
Sandy

Praise received for Mermaid (Mil Nicholson) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Ms. Nicholson:

I enjoyed immensely your readings of the Dickens novels Nicholas
Nickleby
and Barnaby Rudge . I wanted to express my appreciation and
gratitude for your generosity in donating your time, efforts and talent
to share with others through Librivox.

Let me share the following with you, which is a composite of several
personal emails that I sent to friends of mine.

I've become a great fan of Dickens, having listened to mp3 recordings of
several of his novels being masterfully read by volunteers thanks to the
wonderful Librivox(.org) project. For the versions of David Copperfield,
as well as Oliver Twist that I listened-to, the reader was a British
gentleman named Tadg Hynes. For Great Expectations, it was Mark Smith.
Hynes and Smith were both quite good. Perhaps even excellent, in their
own right. But, of the Dickens readers I've heard so far, the greatest
has to be Mil Nicholson, the reader for the versions I listened-to of
Nicholas Nickleby and Barnaby Rudge. A British actress currently living
in the U.S., Nicholson was nothing short of superb in how she brought
the characters and the stories to life. A woman with a distinctly female
natural voice, her versatility in voicing the many different and
distinct characters-- including those with deep, gruff, male voices-- is
nothing short of magnificent . I would urge anyone who appreciates
Dickens to search for her recordings of his works and sample one.

I hope to eventually listen to your other Librivox readings as well.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Noah

Praise received for downey8kids (Brett W. Downey) from our 'Thank a reader' feature regarding his reading of Eric Brighteyes:

Thank you Brett for your reading.
Clear and concise, and extremely 'entertaining'
I am a recent convert to Librivox, and will look out
For more of them.
Thank you again
It is also good to have one reader complete a book
The consistency must have been a labour f love as the
RIder Haggard books are quite long.
Regards
Carol

Praise received for THynes (Tadhg) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:

Mr. Hynes:

I enjoyed immensely your Librivox readings of Dickens' Oliver Twist and
David Copperfield. You brought the characters and the stories to life
wonderfully. My favorite may have been the way you did Feigin. Truly
brilliant. Thank you for so generously volunteering your time and effort
to share your talent this way.

Best wishes,

Noah
